ASCEND emphasizes Achievement, Self-Awareness, Communication, Engagement, Networking and Developmental Skills. The program is designed to motivate, engage and assist high school students in reaching their maximum potential - with an emphasis on SMART careers - Science, Math, and Related Technologies. It will provide participants with an opportunity to receive academic enrichment and life skills training to support their journey to college or vocational employment.

In it's 13th year, The YES Summit,started by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Xi Theta Omega Chapter in conjunction with the Arlington Foundation for Excellence in Education, is an all-day conference for students in grades 7-12. The conference will provide students with an opportunity to network with their peers, and attend a variety of workshops on leadership, self-sufficiency
for academic and personal success. This unique, complimentary, teen-focused summit provides valuable educational workshops and resources to youth in and around Tarrant County.
YES Summit will address today's growing need for life skills, STEM careers, conflict resolution, branding, and social media management. The 2017 YES Summit will feature a motivational speaker, valuable workshops, and exhibitors. The YES Summit also provides education workshops and resources for parents to encourage parent involvement in their students' education.
