April 5th , 2024

After a long amazing jouney we are back at home in Brazil!

At the end of our precious time in Singapore, we received such a blessing that we are able to finish the first phase of the Safeway children's center and start phase two!

Financial report of ministry donations from Singapore

Safeway $91,686.00 = Finish phase #1 & start phase #2!

Manga Bibles $5,200.13 = To buy 104 Manga Bible kits!

Camp $3,975.26 = To help 32 kids go to camp!

Wayne Myers Missionary to Mexico also donated US$50,000.00 to this project which completly paid for the third plot of land with the school building we were believing to buy!

So many friends, so many meals, so little time... such a BIG belly when we left! hahaha! Loved every minute of it!

As we mentioned before, but couldn't post much, we spent nearly 2 weeks in India doing 3 pastors’ meetings for 150 pastors and 1 Sunday service. During our time there we visited the Bible school building Ashley donated her retirement fund to help build. The building will house a Bible school, church, dorms, meeting hall, cafeteria and main offices for the regional ministry supervising 300 churches.

The sunday service was fun, I loved the printed wall in the background showing off God's grand creation!

At one of the pastors’ conferences there was a graduation for 18 new pastors from the Bible school. They will all go out to plant brand new churches in unreached villages. One of the pastors here was previously a Muslim and is now pastoring a church of 100 believers. He needs to buy a piece of land to build a church on. In America or Singapore buying land is a massive undertaking, but in India a lot can be bought for only US$12,000.00 the building for another $25,000.00. A far cry from our reality but still impossible for a village church without outside help. With an average of 2 dollars a day salary in a village we can only imagine the challenge!

Anderson, on the right, is responsible for the "Rescue House" outreach to the homeless. This month has been really tough on him as they lost 2 of the people they were rescuing.

Hugo had lived on the streets since he was 9. Anderson has been working with him since then. Hugo went through therapy and was doing well, playing football in the street with the others, participating in communion. He asked if they could please teach him English and he was here for our last homeless retreat and was a wonderful blessing. He then moved in with his girlfriend and had a relapse. Anderson's last contact will be identifying him in the morgue after he was found 3 days after he died from apparently being beat to death and left on the street.

Ramon was also recently lost to violence on the streets .

On a more joyful note! Marcos and Wellington lived on the streets before they came in for treatment and are now doing well. The camps here are a major tool in helping Anderson rescue these lost children from the violence and drugs on the streets.

Marcos

and Wellington today

Both have gone through rehab and are now in the Rescue House for 3 months getting trained to get a job and live a "normal" life.

Our next homeless retreat is the end of May. With a cost of US$5,500.00 for 5 days. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated. It takes a very special gift to do the work Anderson has sacrificed and dedicated his whole life to, he needs some help to do it faithfully and well.

Anderson and Jemima's second child is due in May!

Isadora is still in the hosptal treating a blood clot from her brain surgery and her mom is down the hall with her sister who was born on April 1st!

I'm going to send out another photo jounal with just some pics and fun stuff from our trip and the new born etc. keep an eye out!

175 men congregated at the ranch after a 3-day hike...

30 of them accepted Christ that night and 10 more when they were connected to local cell groups at believers’ homes. The legends ministry is over 30,000 men strong in Brazil and they liked our facility so much they want to have 10 of their events here a year! This is why we take such good care of this place. The beauty and presence of God here is so obvious! We even have place for baptism in the jungle. 150 men who have been through the program before come to the ranch as support, prayer, and encouragement to the first timers for the 2-day weekend closing event.

At one of the other locations (They are nationwide) some of the leaders were at the natural baptism pond at a waterfall in a park. They had just prayed over the location while in the water and then the leadership team left. Unknowingly (only God knows how) they left one pastor behind...

Shortly thereafter a family with two children came to play in the pond at the edge of the cascading waterfalls... They talked to the pastor and heard his story of being left behind and offered him a ride home after the kids had satisfied their time in the water. Then, the whole family got in the water to play! Just a few seconds later the oldest child declared "This was such a beautiful place to swim." Then, very unexpectedly, the pastor heard the mother screaming! He ran over to see what was happening as the whole family was yelling excitedly.... The mother then told the pastor that her 13-year-old daughter was autistic and had never spoken a word in her entire life! Until she got in this pool, that the pastors/leaders had just prayed God's blessing over, knowing they were going to come back for baptism at this very location.

Scouting out trails on the mountain behind our house was fun! But turned into an unexpected journey when the fourwheeler died... It's been at the shop now for 7 days with them trying to figure out the problem.

We had to push it a long way to get it back to the road, taking several breaks to catch our breath... Talk about something you never want to have to do again! That was exhausting, even with 3 grown men. We were right next to nothing in the middle of nowhere... lol!

We had an event with kids from a church this weekend and the end of the trail was a mud pit you had to crawl through to finish the challenge. Many did it but shortly into it realized it was much worse than just fun and mud... It stank something awful! Much like sin. You think it's just a bit muddy and fun and you can just walk away, but no one wanted to go home like this! They didn’t even want to take a shower in the bathroom and stink up the rooms with their filthy clothes....

So much like sin... so deep you can't get out! And you have no idea what you are really getting into. Mothers and fathers didn't even want to hug their own kids! Nor did friends care to help... What none of them knew was just a bit up the hill was this nice pond of fresh flowing water to wash off all that stinky sin like mud, filth, and stench! And you can clearly see an illustration of what being baptized in Christ does for you! It washes away all that filth and stench of sin in our lives!

If you like the part two idea let me know.

During our trip back and forth to Asia we stopped and visited some missionaries in Croatia and Montenegro. I also have some extra shots of some crazy stuff from our trip in India so don't forget to keep an eye out for a "Part Two!" just a bunch of cool pics and short text. Should be fun.

May the Lord Bless you and Keep you!

Sincerely

Paul Perry
