**Note from our Farm Manager, Brendan**
As I am sure many of our customers have noticed, July has brought an excess of rain to eastern MA. The farm staff has been noticing some crop issues arising from this excess and persistent moisture. We are currently experiencing serious yield reduction in our cucumbers and summer squash as a result. There are later successions of these crops that ought to catch up soon, but there will be a significant gap in our harvest this year unfortunately (likely several weeks). We are also experiencing a serious disease issue in our eggplant crop (compounded by long-term pest issues). Luckily, we grow several varieties and some are showing better resistance than others. With that said, our customers can expect a light eggplant harvest this season. If similar rainy conditions persist then we can expect to see challenges in other crops as well. We appreciate your patience and understanding! The benefit of a diversified vegetable farm in this situation is that we have many other crops that are holding up just fine at this point. Let's hope the tomatoes maintain their vigor and the rain slows a bit in the coming weeks!
