Dear Coaches:
For the past 13 years, Basketball Stars of America has been running some of the Biggest and Best Spring and Summer Basketball Tournaments and Shootouts in the Country. More than 5000 Teams have participated in our tournaments over the past 2 Seasons! All Basketball Stars of America Tournaments feature Top Venues in the Pittsburgh, PA Area, Certified Officials, Electronic Scoreboards, Stopped Clock Games, Great Local & National Competition and Awards for Tournament Champions! Basketball Stars of America has also partnered with Tourney Machine to allow participants and fans to follow all BSA events live online or on the Tourney Machine App. The Entry Deadline for all Tournaments & Shootouts is the Wednesday before the event at 12 pm EST. All Fees must be fully paid in advance.
We are coming up with a list of updates to our protocols based on CDC Guidance to make it safe for players to return, as well as creating a safe environment for Parents, Fans, Staff, Refs and Scorekeepers. This list will be published before the programs begin. Many Youth Basketball Programs around the country are looking to Basketball Stars of America for guidance on how to move forward with Tournaments. This was featured in a recent Good Morning America/ABC News Story that may appear on GMA in the next 2 days and is currently online. These will include Social Distancing Measures, Temperature Checks, Electronic Whistles for Refs, Use of Masks & Gloves by Tournament Staff, Masks worn by fans, Pre-Purchase of Admission Passes available, Sanitizer available at all sites, as well as constant cleaning, elimination of hand shaking, as well as other measures we are working on.
During The Summer of 2020, BSA will host 8 Tournaments and 17 1-Day Shootouts in Pittsburgh, PA. All Events are listed below.
Our planned opening Weekend is June 5th to 7th, when BSA will host the 13th Annual Adidas Summer Battle of The Burg Tournament & Shootouts
. This is one of the Top Tourneys in all of the Summer AAU Season and games are scheduled to be broadcasted on BallerTV! Deadline to Enter is This Wednesday, June 3rd at Noon EST! We also have many more Great Summer Events, that are listed below, including the Make Up of the Adidas Pittsburgh National Tip Off Tourney (now scheduled June 26-28).

Tournaments vs. Shootouts:
A Question that is asked all of the time is: What is the difference between a Tournament and a Shootout?"
BSA Tournaments guarantee a minimum of 3 Pool Play Games with an opportunity to advance to Championship Rounds following Pool Play. The winners of Tournaments get awards.
BSA Shootouts allow teams to choose how many total games they want to play. For 1 Day Shootouts, teams will play all their games in 1 venue on the same day. There are no Championships in Shootouts.
Game Time Requests:
For the past 13 years, BSA has worked with Coaches and Program Directors to make attending a BSA event as great as possible. We try to honor all game time requests. For the most part, teams coming from over 2 hours away will not play on Friday nights unless they choose to.
