BRS Read-A-Thon Fundraiser

Watch the number of minutes read grow through the online dashboard and our reading thermometer in school. Classes are collectively working towards having the most minutes read to win a special prize!

In celebration of Read Across America, the BRS PTA is organizing a two-week Read-A-Thon Fundraiser, which will end with our most cherished annual Book Character Parade!

Dates: February 26^th – March 8^th

Students and teachers will be able to log reading minutes while raising funds for BRS!

Class prizes, including pajama day/extra recess and gift baskets, will be awarded for most minutes read and students can shop an online reward store from a portion of individual donations received.

If you have not done so already, please register your child for the Read-A-Thon! See the flyer that went home with your child on 2/12 or Mrs. Hunger's 2/16 email for instructions on how to register.

BRS Book Character Parade (3/8)

The BRS Book Character Parade, a parade of students and staff dressed up as their favorite story characters, will be on

March 8th at 2:00pm

At the BRS playground area

Students are asked to dress up as their favorite character and to bring the book or a picture of the cover of the book with them to school.

Families are encouraged to arrive between 1:30 and 1:45pm so they can stand appropriately inside of the playground area to witness the parade. We hope to host the parade with exception to rain or snow.

We invite all parents / guardians of a BRS student to join the PTA!

PTA membership is per person (for adults only)

Please purchase your own PTA membership, even if someone in your household already has one, to support our school, teachers, and students!

Your $25 PTA membership is how we are able to fund the numerous programs we bring to BRS, including: Cultural Arts, Author Visits, Rev Day, Grade Level Math Programs, Edible Garden, and much more. Your membership is valid for one year and we invite all parents / guardians to join annually. Becoming a PTA member does NOT mean that you need to volunteer - although that is always appreciated!
