The Problem with EHRs:
BRI's first education pamphlet,
by D. Milyavsky (Stony Brook)

We are pleased to announce BRI's first of a series of educational pamphlets! Daniel Milyavsky, BRI-Stony Brook founder and president, interned with us last summer and spent a great deal of time and scholarship preparing a truly impressive, educational pamphlet that is available to all who want to educate others about the problems with EHRs, how they negatively impact the patient-doctor relationship, and how government health policy caused it!

You can read and download the pamphlet from BRI's website. Just click on the graphic below.

Use the pamphlet to your advantage! Last month, OU-HCOM's BRI team under president  Michael Hollar, hosted a debate featuring BRI founder Sally Pipes, with attendance of over 200 people! The EHR pamphlet was prominently displayed on their welcome table next to Ms. Pipes's broadside on repealing the ACA.

Congratulations, OU-HCOM!

And speaking of Michael, he is president of three clubs, husband, and the proud dad of 6-month old Kayleigh...and still manages to do amazing events for BRI.

Thanks for all you do, Michael!

Free market healthcare: Beyond "What if....?" questions

Daniel Milyavsky was also busy at the International Students for Liberty Conference in Washington, DC. We met Daniel in 2015 at this conference, and now--two years later--he stood at BRI's table as one of our most accomplished student leaders, with colleagues John Flo and Zach Howell.

With his usual insight, Daniel shares his latest blog post:

" 'What if a poor person gets sick, doesn't have insurance, and can't get friends, family, or charity to pay for treatment. ...?'
Someone can always come up with imagined nightmare scenarios for any proposed solution. If doctors always had that attitude in regards to medical advances, people would still be dying of smallpox and juvenile diabetes. We have to move beyond this sort of sophistry." ~Daniel Milyavsky
