BPI Accepting Video Applications for Impact Grants Program

BPI is accepting video proposals for our summer Impact Grants Program. Impact grants are designed to invest up to $1,000 in Black-led groups with an annual budget of $150,000 or less.

Impact Grants support work focused on the four key areas in our Rethinking Philanthropy report (education, jobs and wages, poverty, and civic engagement) and criminal justice reform or racial justice efforts.

Work/project must specifically impact Black communities in Forsyth County, NC.
Organizations may apply for grants of up to $1,000.
Priority is given to Black-led groups supporting predominately Black neighborhoods (including 27101, 27105, and 27107).

The application deadline is midnight, Monday, July 24.

BPI Grantee Spotlight

BPI's Grantee Spotlight is an opportunity to share the wonderful impact grantees have in our local community. Continue reading to learn more about BPI Impact Grant recipient the National Birth Coalition and their recent Fox8 News Feature.

The National Birth Coalition is a community-based organization working to eliminate birth and health disparities in North Carolina by prioritizing BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color) maternal and infant health. The National Birth Coalition comprises a diverse group of certified and trained birth and postpartum doulas, medical professionals, maternity care advocates, community members, and researchers interested in direct efforts to support, advocate, and provide solutions for communities across the state.

In February, the National Birth Coalition received a BPI Impact Grant to support educational sessions and efforts to eliminate birth and health disparities. The organization also received a Winston-Salem Foundation Small Grant to provide a BIPOC health and wellness series.
