Balmoral YouTube channel

At one of the homes in which I lived, there were hedges along the house around the outside on two of the sides. Somehow, there were vines which grew inside these hedges and made maintaining the hedges sometimes challenging. They would wind throughout the branches of the hedges and I spent a lot of time cutting them back. Vines seem to have an ability to grow in an almost insane manner. The lesson that I learned with these vines is that if I were to destroy them, I had to get to their source. Otherwise, I would clip them and watch the ends die but they would be back in a very short time.

The imagery of vines and their source is used by Jesus as he speaks to his followers regarding the importance of remaining connected to him. As followers, if we are disconnected from the Lord, we will wither just like those branches I clipped. For survival, we need to always remain connected to our source of life, Jesus Christ. This provides what we need both physically and spiritually.

This Sunday, I will be talking about the importance of remaining connected to the Lord. I encourage you to give some thought about how you might be connected or disconnected from Christ at this time in your life? How are you feeling? Is anything missing?

Blessings,

Pastor Mark

MARK YOUR CALENDAR - We're having a Community Picnic!

We encourage you to invite guests, friends and neighbors to join us!

Each year on Pentecost Sunday, we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit and the birthday of the church. The Holy Spirit remains with us still, connecting us with the church of the past, continuing to inspire the church of today, and pointing us to the church of the future.

Each year, this celebration is marked by receiving the Pentecost Offering, on May 19th this year, which nurtures the faith of those who are the church to come. The Pentecost Offering helps our youth begin life with a strong start --- a solid foundation of faith formed in the first third of life, from childhood through young adulthood.

Begin now considering how you can support this year!

DEDICATION of the NEW Gale Environmental Education Center

NEW BPC CHURCH WEBSITE!

Our new church website is up and running. Take some time to check it out at www.balmoralpc.com. We will keep updating and improving it in the weeks and months to come. Any ideas or recommendations should be shared with Pastor Mark.

 NEW CREATION STATION

A new addition to our sanctuary is now in place, a Creation Station. This will allow children to have an activity area during our worship service so they can remain with us throughout all of the worship service. We will also be adding a Children's Moment to our Sunday liturgy. Children will be asked to come forward for a time with Pastor Mark, then given an opportunity to color a sheet about the story at the Creation Station There will be other activities for them to enjoy in addition to or instead of coloring.
