We live in a world where there are so many voices clamoring for our attention. We receive messages from a multitude of sources, frequently they can be conflicting. All of this chatter in our world can leave us questioning what we should be listening to and for in our lives. Add to this the busyness which many of experience on a daily basis and it can be difficult to have the time to even listen.
Jesus presented an image to his followers which many of them understood in their context regarding a shepherd and his sheep. As he talked about the interaction between the shepherd and the sheep, he indicated that the sheep will recognize the shepherd's voice. This imagery was designed to communicate the interaction which is intended between the Lord and his followers.
This leaves us with a series of questions we need to ask ourselves:
- How am I listening for the Lord's voice?
- How do I recognize the Lord's voice?
- Do I know the Lord well enough to recognize the Lord's voice?
I encourage you to ponder these questions as you prepare to come to worship on this Sunday. Feel free to reach out to me to discuss any of this.
Blessings,
Pastor Mark

Children will be asked to come forward for a time with Pastor Mark, then given an opportunity to color a sheet about the story at the Creation Station There will be other activities for them to enjoy in addition to or instead of coloring.
