MASB Artist Travel Prize application closes on Monday, June 3

The Municipal Art Society of Baltimore City (MASB) Artist Travel Prize awards $7,000 to a visual artist or visual artist collaborators living in Baltimore City. The prize is intended to function as funding for travel essential to studio practice. Winners have traveled to Morocco, Czech Republic, Japan, Peru, Mexico, throughout the United States, and to Ghana and Senegal. The deadline is June 3, 2024. Click below to apply.

Second round of Artscape applications closes Sunday, June 9

The second round of Artscape opportunities is now open! New applications include Community Engagement, Arts Organizations, Baltimore City Agencies, & Non-Profit Organizations. There is also an open call for artists to apply for the B_24 exhibition and an Open Model Call for Project Artscape. Request for Qualificaitons for a 570-square-foot indoor mural

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts and Wexford Science + Technology are issuing a call for artists for an indoor mural for 4MLK at 4 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. 4MLK is a gateway between the BioPark, University of Maryland, Baltimore, and Medical Center offering Class A laboratory, office, flex lab, and convening spaces, and is set to open in fall of 2024. For this Request for Qualifications, experienced muralists, public artists, and 2D artists may apply with examples of their work. Two artists will be invited to submit a proposal for the site and paid a $500 stipend. The selected artist will then work directly with representatives from Wexford Science + Technology to make final design decisions and install the mural. The total budget for this 570-square-foot mural is $19,950. Expected completion date of the mural would be October 2024. The deadline is June 21, 2024. For details and to submit, click below.

Call for collaborative artworks from Virginia Beach Art Center

Virginia Beach Art Center is accepting submissions for the upcoming exhibition: Collaborations. regional artists are eligible as long as they can drop work off in person. Find an art buddy and create a work of art together that will be on exhibit during the month of June. Your collaboration can be with whomever you please and can be a partnering with any type of artist. The deadline to submit is midnight on May 23, 2024. Howard County invites applications for a Youth Poet Laureate

The Howard County Youth Poet Laureate, an honorary one-year position formally appointed by the County Executive, will act as an ambassador for literacy, arts, and youth expression and demonstrate a passion a passion for poetry and its power to connect our communities through local public readings and participation in civic events. Along with the official title, the next Youth Poet Laureate will serve from August 2024 through June 2025 and will receive an honorarium of $500 paid in two equal installments of $250 at the beginning and end of their term. Artist wanted to paint outdoor mural in Calvert County

The Calvert County Arts Council is accepting submissions for an outdoor mural that will serve as an addition to the Calvert County Fairgrounds to act as a welcome to visitors and photo op. The Arts Council anticipates choosing an artist by July 3, 2024. The budget of $3,000 for this project is inclusive of artist’s fees, materials, fabrication, onsite installation, and travel. Three finalists will be paid a $200 stipend to produce a rendering for consideration of final selection. Worldwide online art competition seeks animal submissions

Fusion Art invites submissions for the 9th Annual Animal Kingdom art competition for an online exhibition during the month of June 2024. For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best art best art and photography depicting animals, both domestic and wild. The artwork can include any animals that live on land, in the sea or in the air. All artists, regardless of location or experience, are invited to submit their best representational and/or abstract art and photography. Two opportunities from the National Endowment for the Arts

Our Town is the NEA’s creative placemaking grants program. All applications are submitted by one organization and require at least one partner organization. Applicants may request an amount between $25,000-150,000, with a required minimum nonfederal cost share or match equal to the grant amount. The deadline is 11:59 p.m. on August 1, 2024. Grants for Arts Projects (GAP) are available for projects in a variety of artistic disciplines. Applicants may request cost share/matching grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. Grants of up to $15,000 to bring jazz tours to new communities

Jazz Road Tours offer grants of up to $15,000 to bring jazz tours into communities across the country. Applications now open for tours occurring October 1, 2024–April 1, 2025. The deadline to apply is June 1, 2024, with additional deadlines occurring regularly through 2026. Artists may apply for a three-to-six site tour comprised of connected (contiguous) dates anywhere in the United States and its territories. As of January 2024, South Arts has added childcare as an eligible expense that can be requested as part of the available $2,500 available for non-musician personnel expenses. Stipended artist-in-residence program in Charlotte, NC

McColl Center seeks applications for the Winter/Spring 2025 Artist-in-Residence program. Artists may work in drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, film, video, new media, or interdisciplinary practices. Artists-in-Residence participate in a group exhibition and lead one to two community engagements centered around their practice. Artists-in-Residence receive private housing adjacent to McColl Center, a large-scale private studio in our historic building in Uptown Charlotte, curatorial guidance, marketing and PR support, and a generous stipend. Submit to Disney's short film incubator training program

The Disney Launchpad: Shorts Incubator returns for a third season focused on identifying, developing, and showcasing the Disney storytellers of tomorrow. In this season, they will be producing three shorts. Writers and/or directors will be paired with Disney creative executives who will serve as mentors as they embark on a 12-month training program centered on creative collaboration within the Disney Studio system. Virtual workshop for students on writing through grief

Join therapist and Mexican American author Loretta Lopez for a virtual writing workshop sponsored by the New York Life Foundation on June 4 at 7:00 p.m. Students will hear from Loretta’s debut novel, "City Girls," and learn about how grief and loss can inform their work. Matching grant opportunity for non-profit organizations

Folk and Traditional Arts Community Projects grants fund projects that support the vitality of traditional arts and cultures in the mid-Atlantic region. Non-profit organizations may apply for $1,000 to $7,000 grants. A 1:1 match is required. Eligible projects may include performances, public art collaborations, workshops/trainings, exhibitions, fieldwork and/or documentation, and the creation of new traditional work. The deadline is June 10, 2024. Apply for a fully sponsored residency in the Bay Area

The Headlands Center for the Arts invites applications for its Artist in Residence program. Fully sponsored residencies, including a monthly stipend of up to $1,000, will be awarded to approximately 50 local, national, and international artists at the cutting edge of their fields whose work has the potential to have significant cultural and social impact. Residencies run for four to 10 weeks and include roundtrip airfare, 100-2,000 square-foot studios, chef-prepared meals, access to vehicles as well as a basic woodshop; audio/video equipment; an artists’ library with computer, scanner, and printer; and field trips to Bay Area museums, galleries, and cultural venues. There is a $45 application fee. The deadline is June 10, 2024. Seven-day funded residency in Utah open to dancers

Alta Community Enrichment (ACE), located in Alta, Utah, invites applications for its Artist in Residence Program. Through the program, one artist will be provided with seven days of housing in the month of August 2024 at the Goldminer’s Daughter Lodge; a $1,000 stipend for supplies, food, travel, etc.; access to a private studio at the lodge, if needed; and an invitation to attend any ACE events during the stay. Unrestricted $1,800 grant for visual artists & photographers

Innovate Grant distributes two $1,800 grants each quarter, one each to a visual artist and a photographer. The newly increased grants act as mighty sparks of financial support that ignite creative development. One of the most recent Innovate Grant winners, Zoe Schweiger, attended Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and Julia Gould, a recent Winter 2024 Honorable Mention, lives and works in Baltimore.
