LONG BEACH/SOUTH BAY MEMBERS WIN AT TOBY AND AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE GALA
Congratulations to TOBY winners, Del Amo Crossing, Aero Long Beach, and 909/999 North Pacific Coast Highway in the Long Beach-South Bay Region for winning The Outstanding Building of the Year Award in their categories.

And congratulations to our regional co-chair, Finland Alejo, for winning the Property Manager of the Year award!

  • Long Beach Fire Chief Xavier Espino plans to retire at the end of the year.

  • Christopher Koontz has been named as the new Director of Development Services for the City of Long Beach. The department oversees planning, permitting, code enforcement, and housing services.

The Long Beach/South Bay election night was active for BOMA/GLA. We interviewed numerous candidates across five jurisdictions in the area. Though Suzie Price lost her bid for Long Beach Mayor, three of our supported candidates pulled off victories. Read more...

Concerns remain that the technology and infrastructure are not ready for such an ambitious plan. And if not implemented correctly, the supply chain may continue to suffer disruptions. 
LA County Votes for Change in the Sheriff’s Department in 2022 Election
In last week’s midterm elections, Los Angeles County residents made it clear that they want changes in the sheriff’s department.

While the results from last Tuesday have not been finalized, the sheriff’s race and Measure A look like a foregone conclusion.
