  • The entertainment strikes this year have caused a drop in production by 44.2% compared to the five-year average, according to a new report from FilmLA.

  • Los Angeles is one of six pilot cities authorized to install automatic speed cameras under a bill passed this last legislative session. Drivers going at least 11 mph over the speed limit will receive tickets in the mail if caught by one of these cameras.

  • Netflix is planning to reopen the Egyptian Theater next month. The historic theater had been undergoing three years worth of renovations and will be open in time for Netflix to showcase its awards lineup.

OPERATING BENCHMARK REPORT
Have You Read the Operating Benchmark Report?  

The BOMA/GLA Operating Benchmark Report is now available for review! The report is a comprehensive survey that covers a wide range of operating expenses, such as utilities, maintenance, insurance, and taxes. Additionally, we asked participants to provide information on leased and physical occupancy.

We want to thank the members who participated and made this report possible. Special thanks to our advisory committee, who helped develop the survey questions, and our Board of Directors, who provided valuable feedback and support to the project.

The report is free for all members and available to purchase for non-members.

Changes to BOMA/GLA Advocacy Staff

This month we bid farewell to our Director of Government and Public Affairs, Aaron Taxy (far left side). Aaron’s dedication and expertise have left an indelible mark on our association. While his daily presence will be missed, we wish him every success in his next chapter. Our former Government Affairs Manager, Blake Perez (far right side), has taken over the role as BOMA/GLA’s new Director of Government and Public Affairs. He can be reached at bperez@bomagla.org.
