Beachwood High School Hosts College Credit Plus Information Night
Beachwood High School will host a College Credit Plus (CCP) Information Night on Tuesday, January 16, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Beachwood High School Community Room. Representatives from Tri-C, Kent Geauga/Twinsburg, and Cleveland State University will be present to answer families' questions about the requirements for participation in CCP courses at each of their campuses.
Beachwood High School offers a wide range of course options throughout your child's four-year plan of study at the high school. One program we offer for consideration is Ohio's "College Credit Plus." This program can help students earn college and high school credits simultaneously by taking college courses offered by community colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and provide a wide variety of options to college-ready students.
Participating in College Credit Plus is free for students and their families. School districts are required by the state to pay the tuition and textbook fees for participants who attend public colleges or universities. If you choose to attend a private college or university, you may face limited costs. Beachwood has agreements with many colleges in the area, several of whom will be in attendance to answer questions you may have about their programs. Your child's school counselor will help you assess if this program is suitable for his/her needs.
Please note: A Letter of Intent signed by the student and parent must be submitted by April 1, 2024 in order to be eligible to participate in this program for the 2024-2025 school year (including summer).
We look forward to meeting with you on January 16 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. For more information about the College Credit Plus program, you can find it on the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce website.
