Hello Everyone,

I'm excited to let you know that we have our summer schedule of events lined up. We've been working hard on getting everything ready so you can add it to your summer plans. The schedule of events is posted in the newsletter.

We have a few new lakes on the outing line up, along with some that we haven't been to in a long time. I'm looking forward to a good summer on the water.

We also have our 20th annual sportsman's banquet coming up on March 23. If you haven't gotten your tickets yet and are interested in going, I'd recommend getting them soon. We limit our ticket sales to 160 tickets. We are always looking for volunteers to help with the banquet, if you are interested please reach out to us.

One of the first things we have going this summer is the Lake Access Cleanup. We will start it when this newsletter is sent and will run till the April meeting (more info below).

Our next meeting is on Tuesday March 12th at the Nisswa Legion at 7 p.m. It will feature Mille Lacs Lake, with Capt. Ryan Kelly.

March 12th Meeting - Ryan Kelly - Guest Speaker

Ryan Kelly of Lagoona Guide Service will be joining us this month to discuss Mille Lacs muskies! Ryan brings over a decades experience guiding for all species on Mille Lacs and will be sure to have some good insight on the current status of the fishery.

Meetings are open to the public and FREE to attend! Chance to win various prizes from lures or maybe a rod in our meeting raffles. Come to hear and share fish stories and more. One random door prize drawing for those in attendance. Bring your friends!

2024 Sportsman's Banquet - March 23

The 20th Annual BLC Sportsman's Banquet is just a couple of weeks away and we only have a very limited number of tickets still available. Get your tickets today so you don't miss out! Fewer than 20 tickets still available as of March 6.

Minnesota Muskie Expo - This Weekend!

The Minnesota Muskie Expo is being held this weekend at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Come check out all of the great vendors and a great schedule of speakers.

The BLC will have a booth as well. Come find us just to say hello, buy your banquet tickets, sign up for the 2024 Shootout, or just chat to see what we all have planned for 2024.

Lake Cleanup Challenge

Do you want a chance at a $50 gift card to Mills Fleet Farm? Here is all you need to do; simply take a picture of you cleaning up the trash at any of our area waters and send the picture to us via email or Facebook message. brainerdmuskies@gmail.com

So that we can share with our community where we have been, we ask that pictures include a lake access sign or other visible landmark at a public landing.

The winner will be chosen at our April 9th monthly meeting. Need not to be present to win but your attendance is encouraged:) Our goal is to help improve our local lakes and help promote great stewardship.

Jeff Young Memorial - 2024 Muskie Shootout

Registration for the 2024 Jeff Young Memorial Muskie Shootout is officially open and we already have 24 teams signed up!

We will once again be headed back to Agency Bay Lodge on beautiful Leech Lake. Clear your calendar for the weekend of October 5 - 6, 2024 and register your team today. Remember, starting positions are determined by the order of registrations. So it pays to sign up early!

Cedar Lake - Sponsorship night - fish must be caught using a BLC sponsor's lure - 4pm to 9pm

BLC Memorial Outing

This is separate from the MHOTY schedule and is run a bit more like a tournament style with prizes for the winner as well as big fish pot and raffles afterwards.
