Annual Fall Retreat
On September 15, 2023, we hosted our Annual Fall Retreat. This year's topic was Integrating Artificial Intelligence in Medical Education, with a keynote address from Weiwei Pan, PhD, of Harvard’s School of Engineering. Dr. Pan’s outline set the stage for lively discussions on Artificial Intelligence's pivotal role in healthcare and medical education. Our attendees engaged in dynamic small breakout groups on health equity, data science, educational innovations, and diagnostic reasoning. As a result of the overwhelming interest in AI during the retreat, the Academy is assembling an AI in Medical Education Innovation Group which will provide ongoing faculty development sessions dedicated to the topic. Additionally, the Academy will partner with the Offices of Graduate and Undergraduate Medical Education offices to offer GME and UME Educators professional development.
