Welcome to our August Newsletter,

As the warmth of summer envelops us, I hope you are relishing joyful moments with loved ones and basking in well-deserved relaxation. With hearts full of gratitude for this season of rejuvenation, let's eagerly anticipate the coming academic year, brimming with new possibilities, growth, and shared success. To that end, this year, we are introducing a new curriculum design. As always we will continue to have 2 seminars per month, one of which will focus on foundational clinical teaching strategies and the second will focus on innovative ideas, "hot topics," and advanced skills. In so doing, we aim to support the needs of our community who have wide-ranging experiences and interests.

We are enthusiastic about our upcoming fall lineup starting with our Annual Retreat and Women in Medicine and Science month speaker. Until then, enjoy the sunshine and community! See you in September!!

Join the BIDMC Academy today!

Those interested can apply to be prospective members, and if they accrue the requisite number of hours by June 2024 will be inducted into the Academy as full members.

Requirements of BIDMC Academy hours for prospective members:

· 6 hours for faculty

· 3 hours for trainees or non-physician healthcare professionals

If you are already an inducted (i.e., full) member, you DO NOT need to reapply this year. In order to maintain your membership, 6 hours of professional development time are still required, but only 1 hour needs to come from BIDMC Academy-specific programming. The remaining 5 hours can come from your department or HMS but must take the form of professional development seminars (not just teaching, mentoring, or attending clinical talks).

Apply using the link below deadline is Friday, September 8, 2023 by 5:00pm, and please forward to your colleagues. Reminder - there is no need to re-apply this year if you are a full member in good standing.
