Our 30th anniversary a few weeks ago gave us a valuable opportunity to take stock of what we've achieved.

Like many of the businesses and tenants we support, the day-to-day is often so busy with reaching for new goals, it can be easy to forget to celebrate how far we've come. To get a real measure of our success, we conducted an impact report and were blown away by the findings. A £2.5bn boost to the region's economy was the headline figure from our three decades of work to help and house thousands of amazing businesses in the region. Have you heard about the Sunderland City App? Offering deals and offers from local businesses, it could be an effective new way to reach customers. Phase one of the brand new app is being rolled out this year by Sunderland City Council as part plans to create a connected city. The BIC joins the BID to drive the city forward

Our new affiliate membership of Sunderland BID comes at a "key point in the city's transformation". We'll contribute to hosting events, cleaning up the city centre and creating a more vibrant Sunderland.

The time is now for horologist Richard to achieve his dream

For over 20 years, watchmaker Richard has trained and worked with the world's most luxurious brands - always as an employee. Now, with free start-up support from our team, he's set up his very own repair and restoration workshop.

Big hair, big attitudes and big tunes. Yes, our summer BBQ was strutting a 1980s theme this year!

Over 400 of our fabulous tenants seized the chance to enjoy a neon-filled afternoon of games, food and drink, music and market stalls at our Sunderland site. Free ice cream, face panting and the chance to see the BIC team being soaked in the stocks, all went down especially well!

Head party planner, Head Receptionist Vanessa Shee, said: "We take fun pretty seriously here at the BIC! It's always great to bring our community together for a bit of down time, providing a morale boost for teams and a chance to get to know each other better. View photo gallery.
