Ninth Grade and New Student Orientation

On Wednesday, August 14, orientation for ninth graders starts at 8:20 a.m., and orientation for new students in grades 10, 11, and 12 begins at 9:30 a.m. Both sessions will conclude at 2:56 p.m. The school buses will run normally for ninth graders and new students. Students can take the bus in the morning and afternoon, or families can drop off and pick up their students.

When students arrive, they should enter through the gymnasium doors. Students will be provided a cheese pizza lunch with water. This is free of charge. The cafeteria will be open to purchase additional snacks and drinks. Please note, the pizza is not kosher.

During the day, the students will participate in team-building activities with upperclassmen, walk their schedule, have time to ask questions, pick up textbooks and chromebooks, learn about and sign up for extracurricular activities, and meet their teachers during an abbreviated schedule. There is no need to bring school supplies on this day. Students can visit their lockers on Monday, August 12, or Tuesday, August 13, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please bring school supplies on Thursday, August 15.

Chromebook and Textbook Pick-Up Procedures

Students in grades 10, 11, and 12 may pick up Chromebooks and textbooks on August 14 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Beachwood High School Book Room and Library. Students who are not able to pick up their Chrombooks and textbooks during that time may pick up their materials during the first week of school in the library.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures

High school staff will be positioned in the parking lot for the first few days of school to help parents learn the drop off and pick up routines. If a student is dropped off in a car, they must utilize the walkway area that runs adjacent to the green area in the middle of the parking lot. Cars should not be entering the bus loop closest to the school. This is reserved for buses. Staff will be on hand to direct parents so proper procedures are followed. Please allow extra time to drop off your child the first few days.

School Supplies

The high school does not have a school supply list for each class. If supplies are needed for classes, students will have plenty of time to purchase and bring in the needed supplies.

Summer Assignments

Please make sure your child completes any Summer Assignments before the first day of school. If your child’s class is not listed on the form, he/she does not have a summer assignment in that class.

2023-2024 Yearbooks

The 2023-2024 yearbooks will be available in September. An announcement will go out when the yearbooks arrive. Yearbooks will be mailed to the Class of 2024.

Students are responsible for remembering their appointment time and coming to the office for early dismissal. Please ask your child to set a reminder on their phone to come down to the office at the time of the appointment. To avoid disrupting the learning of other students, the high school does not call into classrooms when students leave for early dismissal.
