A BHSAA love story!

Jim Gavula (BHS '99) and Katie Edinger (BHS '99) re-met at their 15-year high school reunion at McGonigals. They had been acquaintances in high school but had different friend groups and interests. They hit it off that night and Jim reached out after the reunion to ask Katie out. She was very busy with work but that didn’t stop Jim. He ended up asking Katie for dinner at a restaurant in the city. (He was living in the suburbs at the time). She couldn’t say no. They had a great time and continued dating. After a year, they got engaged, then married a year later at St. Anne's. They had their reception in the backyard of their home in Barrington Hills. The Gavulas now have two daughters, Grace and Nora, and live near family and friends!
