Pardon Our Dust...
Wildlife Overlook Improvements
Temporarily Closed During the Day
BHA is making a couple of improvements to the Wildlife Overlook on Stede Bonnet Wynd to make it easier and safer for visitors at the location. The platform will be closed during the day for visitors but will be reopened each evening for people to enjoy the bird roosting. Work began on Monday, September 25, and should be completed by early October. The construction area will be secured each evening.
Improvements include extending the retention wall to help prevent erosion and creating parking for visitors on BHA's side of the street. BHA sent out a Request for Proposals in August for the project, and Trinity Builders BHI was the successful bidder.
