BHGH National Day of Service
On April 1st the Boys Hope Girls Hope Scholars sophomore cohort demonstrated their unwavering dedication to community service by leading the annual National Day of Service (NDOS) at St. Vincent De Paul's Hearts and Hands event.
The goal of the event was to promote the value of service to others. The sophomores were particularly passionate about doing a service project related to homelessness, a critical social issue that affects Phoenix. They wanted to make a difference in the lives of those who are experiencing homelessness and show them that they are not forgotten.
The event brought together a diverse group of volunteers, including all scholars, staff and scholar parents. Together, they completed various craft projects and activities for the Shelter Program participants. One of the projects was making Easter cards, and "sweet dreams" cards that had positive messages to provide comfort to those who were staying at the shelter.
This event was a testament to the power of service to bring people together and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Our scholars showed great leadership and the value of service to others.
