It goes without saying that we are in the one of the most surreal moments we could ever have imagined. Yet here we are, and now we turn our attention toward how to be the church and God’s people during a time of national and global crisis.
First, I encourage you to follow the directives provided by government and health officials. Those directives are for the welfare of everyone.
Second, while we continue to monitor reports from the U.S. government, Virginia Department of Health, and CDC, we also have tried to think of ways the BGAV can be of practical assistance to you and your church. This is an initial list of ways we would like to walk alongside you during this challenging time.

Impact Mission Camps Monitors COVID-19, Extends Summer Registration Deadline
This week we’ve received questions about how COVID-19 will affect plans for Impact this summer, so we want to give you the most up-to-date information and assuage as many concerns as we can.
We are currently moving forward with plans for the summer. We do, however, want to give churches ample time to make any decisions and finalize numbers without penalty, so we are announcing the following steps as we continue to monitor the situation.
We are extending the deadline to finalize numbers and pay deposits until May 1. We will reevaluate our plans for Impact by April 15 and communicate changes and updates for this summer at that time. Churches will then have two weeks to finalize numbers and either pay their deposit or request a refund and cancellation. If we have to cancel Impact for 2020, everyone will receive a full refund. If a church cancels its entire group because of COVID-19 concerns up to 1 week before their scheduled camp, they will receive a full refund. If an individual within your group chooses not to attend, but your group still attends, the church will forfeit the deposit for that individual.
The safety of our volunteers and homeowners is of utmost importance to us, and we wish to take the best steps to ensure that safety. We ask you to join us in praying for all involved, and we are grateful for your understanding, patience, and partnership as we work together to advance God’s Kingdom on earth.

FREE WEBINAR:
"Reframation: Four Important Questions (and Answers) for YOUR Ministry Context" with Alan Hirsch and Mark Nelson
March 23, 2020 - 3:00 p.m. EDT
We live in a world that is constantly on a pilgrimage, searching and longing for so much more.
Yet, followers of Jesus struggle to articulate the story of God in a way that brings clarity and understanding to these longings, this world, and our place within it. There is a great need for a reframation that allows us to see God, people, and mission through re/enchanted frames. We want to seriously consider how it is that we tell and live the story of God in the midst of this pervading “crisis of interpretation.”
In this webinar you will:
- See the “reduction” that is cultural Christianity and how it impacts how we see God
- Learn the concept of re/enchanting, and how it helps us see differently, tell a better story and live a more beautiful life, especially as ministry leaders
- Discover how ministry leaders use all this to re/learn disciplines and practices that will help us to better perceive and understand the keys to culture

Father, I come to you today, bowing in my heart, asking for protection from the evils of the world. We are assailed moment by moment with images on television, the internet, books, and newspapers that leave us vulnerable to sin of every kind. Surround us with your divine hedge of protection. Encompass us with your strength and your might. Let all who take refuge in you be glad, let them ever sing for joy. And may you shelter us, that those who love your name may exult in you. Amen.
