It's a RECAP BESTIE!
If you were able to join us, thank you so, so much. Literally, you gave so much good input to help this program launch. With your help, we plan to get off the ground running in January (I mean, new year, new me?).
And for those who couldn't make it, we missed you! But here's a recap of what went down!
The Women's Fund for the Fox Valley Region is starting a new program (name TBD pls choose below) to engage millennials and younger in the work of the Women's Fund by bringing first-hand awareness to issues facing women and girls in the community through monthly events such as volunteer opportunities, networking, education sessions, and Women's Fund events. To join our sisterhood of besties, members make a one-year gift of $240 or more, paid on a monthly, quarterly, or annual schedule.
We will have co-chairs to spearhead this program with me, which will be known as the HBIC (Head Besties in Charge) and we already have three volunteers, thank you!
The biggest challenge that came to light was deciding on a name! We love the vibes with Bestie AND want to have a name that showcases why we are forming this group. So below we have a poll of which name you like better. Please choose your favorites or let me know some of your thoughts!
Next steps include:
- Official naming of the program
- Meeting with our HBICs (Head Besties in Charge)
- Solidifying a schedule - our first January meeting could be hearing what is important to you!
- Reaching out in December/January with membership applications and our first meeting date!
We're so thankful for your support and excitement about this new initiative and know that your generation will lead our community, and we're better together. Tell your friends, tell anyone because we all need besties <3
