Last weekend was the best fundraising weekend Field Team 6 has ever had in our 6-year history. We are truly overwhelmed by gratitude for our partner organizations and to every single attendee and donor and volunteer. And we absolutely need this rocket fuel to raise the rest of what we need in the next 5 months!

On Saturday, Onward Toward Progress held the biggest event ever staged for Field Team 6: “Viva Nevada,” a Casino Night to raise money for our voter registration efforts in key battleground Nevada. An army of volunteers decked out every table with flowers and blue satin tablecloths, checked in about 150 attendees, and made sure the night went seamlessly. Legendary comic Larry Wilmore emceed, there were video appearances by Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, Rep. Susie Lee, and Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, and Rep. Judy Chu spoke in person. There was an eye-popping auction with 14 pages of items and experiences. And live music. And a buffet and bar. And a paddle raise. And a raffle. It was magical. And this event broke their own previous record, raising over $120,000!!

Then on Sunday the magic continued in northern California, where an inspired group of organizers hosted “Take Pride in Sonoma” at a stunning ranch in the heart of wine country. A crowd of 50 engaged activists told passionate personal stories about what we stand to lose in this upcoming election: reproductive freedoms – LGBTQ+ rights – “my marriage,” said one attendee. I presented the story of Field Team 6: our achievements, our groundbreaking efficacy, and our victory plan for November. And then this generous crew raised almost $60,000.

Because of this weekend, Field Team 6 has now raised almost $1.7 million of our total goal: $3 million total by November. And the great majority of that has been small dollar donations. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

What will $3 million allow us to do? EVERYTHING. It will allow us to find and acquire contact information for every single unregistered likely Democrat that we can, in every swing state, and reach out to them in the most efficient ways possible to get them registered and voting. By doing that, we can add at least 350,000 Democratic and independent votes that would not otherwise exist.

You are the best volunteers, organizers, and donors in the game. You keep on defying our wildest dreams. SO LET’S KEEP GOING – and we may just save this entire democracy!

We are ramping up our texting in a gigantic way! Every Saturday at 11a PT/2p ET from now until the election, we will be texting at least 100,000 unregistered likely Democrats in swing states to get them registered. This will allow us to reach at least 2 million people in the next 20 weeks! To be clear, these are the super-fast textbanks that are free to all volunteers. (Every event starts with a training, so no previous experience necessary.)

POSTCARD PARTY LIKE A PRO WITH FIELD TEAM 6!

Postcarding adds that personal touch and charm to our voter outreach. So we're planning to send thousands of postcards between now and November. That means we need to raise an army of writers. The best way we've found to rally the troops is holding a postcard par-tay. All ya need is some friends and family, a pile of postcards and whatever beverage of choice you prefer to get the party started right!

That’s what dedicated Field Team 6 volunteer Joyce Mercado does monthly. At one of her gatherings of friends and scribes in June, they enjoyed snacks and adult-type beverages while cranking out 110 postcards to Nevada! Plus, they had a grand ol' time chatting about politics while working to save our democracy. So gather your crew, write some postcards to the swing state of your choice and have some fun!

For the past several years we have used the same software to build and share all of the social media posts Field Team 6 creates.

The big news is that this software has just gone through a massive upgrade and so we’re going to do an overall training to make sure everyone knows just how powerful the new version can be!

Georgia is one of the swingiest of the swing states. Trump was so desperate to win it in 2020 that he tried some heavy-handed election interference (and wound up indicted by a grand jury in August). And narrow but decisive victories in 2021 for Senators Ossoff and Warnock gave us control of the Senate. So the Peach State could well decide who wins the White House in November. Native Americans were instrumental in Biden winning in 2020 and are a crucial part of our game plan to win the trifecta this November with victories in the House, Senate and White House.
