Payroll Tax Reminder (April 15th Deadline)

This Month at BEDC / The Highlights

Virtual Vision

Held on March 7th by BEDC at the St. George's Incubator Hub, the Virtual Vision seminar featured Astoria Smith and Jake Moniz, who shared insights on creating a captivating online presence and leveraging social media to engage customers. Participants left equipped with knowledge on building professional websites, understanding e-commerce, and utilizing digital marketing to drive growth.


Enterprise Bermuda Incubator

The BEDC recently kicked off the 2024 cohort of the Enterprise Bermuda Incubator program with an orientation evening on March 8th, 2024, at the BEDC Main Office. The event welcomed 15 new businesses, marking the start of their 12-month journey toward growth and development. The BEDC also continues its partnership with the Accelerator Centre, which continues to bring its extensive curriculum and access to experienced mentors to the program.


Resilient Minds, Thriving Businesses

BEDC's recent webinar, moderated by Donte Hunt, gathered experts like Dr. Adriene Berkeley, Fitzgerald Williams, Dayla Burgess, and Dr. Annabel Fountain to explore the nuances of mental wellness and business success. Panelists shared personal experiences and strategies, empowering attendees with work-life balance techniques and resilience tools.


Think Like an Entrepreneur

The "Think Like an Entrepreneur" course by BEDC, guided by Ray Lambert, finished on March 27th. Inspired by the Ice House Program, it aimed to equip entrepreneurs with skills for realizing business visions. Ray Lambert said, "Its great to have Think Like an Entrepreneur back up and running. We have a fantastic group that come with a range of backgrounds. The focus of the class is to provide entrepreneurs with the core essentials of an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to identify and evaluate entrepreneurial opportunities which are all around us."

The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce announces that applications for vendors to participate in the 2024 edition of Harbour Nights are officially open. Harbour Nights will light up Front Street from May 15th through August 28th, 2024.

New Startups Payroll Tax Relief

Bermuda's government is offering tax relief to eligible entrepreneurs who establish new startups, exempting them from payroll tax for the first year of business.
