Bermuda Business Spotlight

This month, we are highlighting Kimwana Eve, founder of Lookie Lookie. Kimwana joined the 2024 Enterprise Bermuda Incubator (EBI) cohort and has been diligently working to grow her business. This 12-month incubation program guides participants through a detailed process, helping them move from ideas to actual business operations. Lookie Lookie has grown quickly from a temporary pop-up shop that supports small Bermuda vendors and retailers, into a now permanent location where shoppers can experience a wide range of locally made products all year round.

BEDC Celebrated International Cooperatives Day

BEDC proudly joined the global community in celebrating International Cooperative Day on Saturday, July 6th. Celebrated annually on the first Saturday of July since 1923, this day highlights cooperatives' crucial role in fostering economic growth, social development, and community resilience. This year’s theme was “Cooperatives for Climate Action." Cooperatives worldwide exemplify this theme by focusing on sustainable development and environmental stewardship. Cooperatives are a cornerstone of our economic and social fabric. They are not solely about generating profits for their members but are deeply rooted in their communities. On International Cooperative Day, we celebrate their vital contributions to building a sustainable future and combating climate change.
