BDI, in partnership with Burke County Tourism Development Authority, will hold a strategic planning meeting in May to discuss ways that our community can capitalize on our assets to accelerate the growth of the outdoor sector. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting and promising initiative!

News Herald to Highlight Local Businesses

Throughout March the News Herald is accepting nominations for "Salute to Small Business", a program to honor the small businesses that make a big impact in our community! Learn more and nominate your favorite small business...

Also, look for the News Herald's special "Made in Burke" feature in April, which will highlight products that are manufactured in our community!

In May Burke County high school students will have an opportunity to seek employment with local companies. Job fairs are scheduled for May 6 at East Burke High School (to sign up email jnorton@burke.k12.nc.us and on May 8 at Freedom High School (to sign up email ashuping@burke.k12.nc.us). There will be approximately 600 students at each job fair!
