Remembering An Industry Leader
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Bob Pomeroy. As the Founder of Pomeroy Lodging, Bob had an immense impact and large presence within the Canadian hotel industry.

A pillar of the community, lending his time and efforts to a number of charitable organizations, Bob had a gracious heart and was committed to treating everyone he met with respect and understanding.

A true industry titan, Bob set the bar high for hoteliers across the province. His commitment to quality, tenacious spirit, and leadership will remain with us forever. We send our thoughts to Bob's family and collectively recognize how great this loss is for our industry.

A website has been set up for those wanting to share memories:

Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites
Steps from downtown Victoria's Inner Harbour, Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites is a locally owned and operated full service hotel. Having closed for extensive renovations in January, 2020, the property's award winning rooftop restaurant & lounge, Vista 18 , officially reopened to guests on June 11, 2020, taking 'dining with a view' to the next level.

Located on the 18th floor of the hotel, guests are treated to a regional dining experience, sampling the bounty of British Columbia while taking in spectacular views of the bustling inner harbour, the Juan de Fuca Strait, and the Olympic Mountains.

Apart from the restaurants elevated new look, the space is well-equipped to usher in a new era of COVID-conscious dining with an expansive floor plan and fresh filter air-handling from the roof above. Vista 18 is currently open Wednesdays through Sundays from 5pm-10pm, with plans to extend operations this summer. The property's lobby bar, Clive's Classic Lounge , is also expected to reopen July 2020.

Additionally, in welcoming travellers back to the region, The Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites has introduced The Early Days Offer, which provides 30% off all one bedroom and penthouse level suites for a limited time, which includes parking. Visit chateauvictoria.com for more details and visit vista18.com to book your dining reservation.
