Accreditation Team Visit Monday/Tuesday

Every five years, BCA must take part in an accreditation process to ensure we are consistently meeting the academic and spiritual needs of our students.

While we are accredited through the State of Tennessee, we are also accredited through the National Lutheran Schools Association. A team of educators who are well-versed in the NLSA guidelines will visit our campus Monday and Tuesday, April 8 and 9. The team will evaluate many aspects of our school, ranging from curriculum, relationships, communication, spiritual education, maintenance, cafeteria services and more.

Our faculty and staff have worked on various pieces of the process over the school year to offer the accreditation team a comprehensive view of our practices. We look forward to their feedback and guidance on how we can continue to move forward with caring for and educating our children in the best way possible.

Keeping Students Safe During Eclipse Monday

To ensure that students are not tempted to look at the sun as the eclipse takes place mid-day on Mon., Apr. 8, we will not have afternoon recess outside. Students will have morning recess as usual, but play inside for the afternoon.

A big Thank You to the Chattanooga Community Orchestra for their wonderful performance yesterday!

The 60-piece orchestra, conducted by Paul Faulkner, is made up of former music educators, professional musicians and players with varied backgrounds in instrumental music. We appreciate Dr. Harr for coordinating the visit to share their musical talent with our students.

Parent-Teacher League News

We are in dire need of support from our parents! Currently, we have NO Parent Teacher League, and we need your help to change that!

To get the PTL back up and running again, we need a small amount of time and expertise from someone who can help us keep track of service hours through either Signup Genius or Praxischool.

No previous experience with either of these platforms is necessary. The amount of time needed is minimal. However, your contribution will make a tremendous difference in how effective the PTL can be for the next school year and years to come.

There are a few more PTL events happening between now and the end of May that will require BCA parent and family involvement, including Teacher Appreciation Week, May 6 -10. Volunteers are necessary for this important week to honor our teachers!

No matter how much time you can give or when you are able to give it, we could use your involvement! Please contact Emily Patton in Admissions via text (423-443-6270) or Dr. Harr at sarahharr@bcacademy.net to volunteer.

Please consider helping us bring this vital support back to our BCA students and teachers!

Student Events

STEM time with Mrs. Randall - The 2nd/3rd graders made trees and nests from Easter grass, pipe cleaners, cups, blocks or anything to protect their chocolate eggs from hungry predators! Kindergarten and 1st grade did this in STEM class with Mrs. Randall as well.
