WEEKLY REVIEW
What an emotional week. Our hearts are so heavy with worry and sadness for our beloved Israel. Spending time this week with those of you who attended our Tuesday and Thursday programming was comforting and helpful. We bolstered our spirits by offering songs of peace and love during karaoke, ending with Hatikva, Israel's national anthem. By simply showing up, we reminded each other that the Jewish people are resilient!
The coming weeks and months will be difficult for sure. I encourage you to turn off the tv, shut down the computer, and focus on self-care this Shabbat. Please, join us at JCC's Active Seniors next week for a respite from the media and a big hug! This will not be an easy road but we will get through it together. ❤️

THE BEATLES: 50 YEARS LATER
with Barry Wiesenfeld
This is the program you have all been waiting for! Rescheduled from last month, bassist, lecturer, teacher, and author, Barry Wiesenfeld will finally be in the house to share the music of the world's most iconic band through a different lens. Barry sits at a piano to deliver this presentation combining music with his lecture notes to illustrate his point.
Says Barry: "A respected musicologist once described The Beatles as 'One of the most transformative entities of 20th century music' and claimed that they changed the course of popular music forever. Can that possibly be true? This lecture addresses some components of their work that often go unnoticed, but are instrumental in the effect their music has on us all. This includes the specifics of how they changed the pop music landscape forever; the glass ceilings they shattered; and the subtleties that are often overlooked."
This is a not-to-be-missed event -- especially for Beatles fans!
*Note the special timing: 10:45 AM-12:15 PM
Lunch will be served immediately following the lecture.
