May 21, 2024

Dear Friends,

This year has brought a lot of exciting new initiatives to date and many more planned for the future.

We're excited that we will now be able to make more loans that range from $75k to $350k, thanks to the Community Advantage Small Business Lending Company (SBLC), a new type of lending entity created by the SBA to succeed their original pilot program.

Our introduction to the growing tech start up sector in New York was a great success: our TechImpact Startup Competition was held at a packed Craig Newmark Auditorium and we will be supporting some amazing entrepreneurs.

Our suggestion was featured in Center for an Urban Future’s new proposal: 50 Ideas for a More Equitable Queens.

And finally, if you were not able to join us for our annual Immigrant Heritage Week Awards event, scroll down for links to videos of our inspiring awardees and distinguished guests, as well as our Annual Borough Reports for FY 2023, and upcoming webinars!

SBA Community Advantage Loans

In case you missed the news: Accompany Capital was recently granted new licensing from the US Small Business Administration as a Community Advantage Small Business Lending Company (SBLC), a new type of lending entity created by the SBA to succeed their original pilot program.

Our loan team had already been making 7(a) Community Advantage Loans under the pilot program for several years – we were the top provider in New York State in 2023 – so we are extremely pleased that the program has now been made permanent. The creation of this new program is an exciting development for the small business lending industry with the potential to have a significant impact in several ways.

Watch our 2024 Immigrant Heritage Week Awards

Accompany Capital’s Immigrant Heritage Week Awards is an opportunity for us to

honor and celebrate outstanding clients who exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit and leadership of immigrant small business owners and their families.

This year marked the Awards’ 12th anniversary, and we were thrilled to receive special messages from Council Member Oswald Feliz of Distrct 15 in the Bronx, who chairs the Small Business Committee and is a passionate advocate for supporting small businesses, as well as from Deputy Chief of Staff Jasniya Sanchez at the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs. Both of these important leaders recognized and applauded the invaluable contributions immigrants and refugees make to their communities and to the economic well-being of New York City.

Of course, the most anticipated part of the evening each year is hearing the inspiring stories of our honorees. This year we announced a new award, the Sustainable Business Award, in recognition of the launch of Accompany Capital’s Sustainable Business Program, which provides financing and or grants that promote sustainability to reduce the energy costs of businesses.
