Welcome to our Autumn Newsletter!

We will touch upon a few key areas that may be on your mind at the moment, including the recent base rate news and remortgaging, inflation, income protection, home insurance and the benefits of investment versus cash.

It has been a busy quarter as always at Strategy, but we have had the pleasure of attending a handful of events, conferences and held a day out in London for the Team.

We have also commenced the process of rebranding, starting with refreshing our logo. We are excited to share the details with you in the upcoming months.

For those invested on the Advance by Embark Platform, it will be migrating to the Scottish Widows Platform at the end of October. You will have already received communications regarding this already but do get in touch if you have any further questions.

Whilst the Bank of England base rate remains the same, interest rates are still the highest they have been in 15 years. So if you are one of the thousands coming to the end of your fixed rate deal over the next few months it’s very likely you’ll see your payments increase as a result of higher mortgage rates but it’s a common misunderstanding that the Bank of England base rate is directly linked to the mortgage rates on offer. There are many factors that determine mortgage rate pricing.

In August, we started a new annual tradition of our Summer Day Out! We have always had a Christmas Day Out but thought it would be best to enjoy the sunshine.

We went into London for the day and visited the Frameless Immersive Art Experience, the Cutty Sark, took the cable cars across the river and ate some delicious food.

This September Mihaela, Sophia and Emily went to the Openwork Inspiring Women in Financial Services event held in Birmingham.

We had the opportunity to connect and learn from many other successful ladies in the industry, as well as listen to a valuable talk from a behavioural scientist specialising in finance.

September 18th - 22nd was Income Protection awareness week for 2023.
