Hello Michelle,

Over the years, many of you have met my father, Ernie. He inspired my love of cars and my work ethic. At an early age, I began working alongside him at his salvage yard in North Branch. If you've visited my garage you've seen the business depicted in the wall mural shown above. He passed away this month and I will miss his quick wit and forever be grateful for his support.

There are some interesting events in August, so get out there and enjoy.

Minneapolis Mile Automotive Festival

The Minnesota Car Enthusiast Club will be hosting a show at the Minneapolis Convention Center from August 12-13. The Minneapolis Mile Automotive Festival is open to cars, motorcycles, and trucks - there will be a wide variety. In addition to the show there will be autocross, an EV experience, drifting, and RC cars, so there's plenty of ways to have fun.

If you're looking for a job related to the auto industry there will even be a career fair.

With all of that you're going to work up an appetite, so hit up the food truck festival and visit the street air fair in that same area for some amazing sidewalk chalk art.

The cost of the show is $20 for one-day or $30 for two days. There is an additional cost to participate in the drifting and autocross.

Climate-controlled car shows can be nice and this one has a lot to offer.

The Fastest Show Around

The fastest show on Earth returns to Brainerd International Raceway in 2023 for the 41st Annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals. The world’s best drag racers will be on display and serving up a steady diet of nitro-fueled drag racing.

BIR is always an adventure, but the Nationals is an experience everyone should have at least once. The sound is something you feel as much as hear. The Brainerd lakes area is a hot spot all summer and this is the weekend things get a little crazy. Friday is a great time to go as it isn't as busy but you get the whole experience. Get your tickets!
