Het-Heru Healing Dance Workshop Series: Healing Ourselves with Dance

We are pleased to announce that the 2nd series of the Het-Heru Healing Dance Workshops began on May 11th at 7:00pm at the Clarkston Community Center. We had great success and participation hosting our first series of Het-Heru Healing Dance workshops. This will certainly be a special series of workshops that give us an opportunity to cultivate our Het-Heru energy during the Het-Heru cycle. Inspired and based upon the creation of Queen Mother Maash-t Amm Amen of Ausar Auset Society International, the Het-Heru Healing Dance is designed to bring forth the creative, imaginative, sensual, and healing energies that exist within the spirit of every woman. The workshops are very comprehensive, incorporating meditation, qi-qong movements and healing sounds, along with Het-Heru's mantra and dance, giving participants a thorough understanding and practical means to cultivate Het-Heru as a part of their spiritual development and healing work. Please come out and join us for an uplifting and healing good time! For more details regarding cost and location please visit our website at aasatlanta.org

Important Reminder

Queen Mother Maash-t Amm Amen

Founder of the Het Heru Healing Dance

 will be coming to Atlanta
July 14, 2012

at the Clarkston Community Center's Angora Hall

One of the major goals of Ausar Auset Society International is to re-establish the Kamitic way of life for African people and the world. In doing so it is necessary to bring new meaning and understanding to the common activities that make up our lives, and transform our common-everyday activities into traditions of spiritual cultivation and nation building. Queen Mother Maash-t Amm Amen of Ausar Auset Society International is spearheading this effort in a very innovative and powerful way through the creation of the Het-Heru Healing Dance. As a former professional dancer and actress, and practicing priestess herself, Queen Mother Maash-t Amm Amen has been able to tap into an attribute of her divinity to create a dance that embraces the sexual and sensual energies that dance arouses in order to channel and nurture that energy for its true power to heal women spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

In her role as Queen Mother of Ausar Auset Society International she has created the Het-Heru Healing Dance as a first step toward building a broad foundation to address the health and healing issues that impact not only black women, but all women. Her goal is to introduce women to the power of dance to heal and nurture themselves that they may be able to learn how to vitalize and heal the female reproductive system, how to release the tensions and stress masquerading in their life as anger, grief, depression, loneliness and fear, how to stimulate the hormonal and endocrine system to promote healing, and how to harness their own tremendous healing power.

Queen Mother Maash-t Amm Amen is an accomplished author, play write, dancer, and actress. Her vision is to empower women to heal themselves and to develop healing institutions that provide women the education and methods to heal themselves and to heal others. Queen Mother Maash-t Amm Amen envisons the Het-Heru Healing Dance being the foundation of a new health agenda and movement among women that will help to re-establish the connection between our daily living and our health, and lead to the building of a new health and healing industry that is rooted in the Kamitic way of life.

The Dance

Initiated by the 'self-healing' tradition of the Ausar Auset Society International, the Het-Heru Healing Dance was created by Queen Mother Maash-t Amm Amen to assist women of all traditions in healing themselves - so they may help heal others. Any comparison of this dance with more "pop" styles is only apparent as its true effect is deeper and more long last lasting, as can be attested to by the thousands of women who have already attended the healing dance workshops and other events over the years.

The numerous maladies addressed by the healing power that is awakened through this traditional dance have created an opportunity for all women to unite around a central idea - "Heal Thy Self". It has long been understood that a deficiency in the ability to manifest and experience joy and pleasure greatly diminishes the body's ability to be vitalized and combat illness and disease. Through the healing dance, intense sensations of pleasure and joy are used to invigorate the life-force that is responsible for exacting healing on the body. Women immediately experience a marked improvement in attitude and perspective that stimulate the brain (and nervous) and hormonal systems. For many participants, consistent participation in the full program have resulted in amelioration of long and/or painful menses, reduction in fibroid size, lowered blood pressure, low libido, as well as issues with depression and other psychological disorders.

It will be an Event to Remember!

Malcolm X: A Legacy of Saving Black People

May 19th marks the 77th birthday of El Hajj Malik El Shabazz, otherwise known as Brother Malcolm. For Black people across the globe Malcolm X represents a pivotal point of consciousness that sparked a movement of mental and spiritual upliftment that transformed the culture and political expression of Black people. Speak to any Black Power generation activist, organizer, nationalist, or revolutionary and they will tell you that either their personal experience with Malcolm or his autobiography were defining moments that shaped the course of their life, career, and ideas about politics, education, religion, culture, government, and themselves. In honoring the life of El Hajj Malik El Shabazz, we should be able to utilize his legacy to continue the mental and spiritual upliftment of Black people.

Malcolm X's life, in many ways, personified the condition and potential to do great things that exists in all of us. Malcolm's life story is a story that captured the transformation of a typical black man living in America in the mid-twentieth century, and in many ways his story captures the experience of the typical black man living in America today. He grew up the same way that thousands of our young men are growing up today and his life can be used as a means to inspire our young men and women to empower themselves through education, spiritual upliftment, and social, economic, and political activism to build a better life for themselves, their community, and the world.

Many of our youth today are caught up in drugs, crime, and violence in the same manner that Malcolm was as a teenager and young adult. Many of our young men have been to jail and/or prison and can relate to the childhood experiences that Malcolm had that led him to live a life of crime and engage in the tearing down of his own community, as well as being able to appreciate his rise as a nationalist leader. In learning and understanding about Malcolm's life and transformation the youth can see their own lives and begin to see the benefits of developing themselves intellectually, morally, and spiritually for the benefits of themselves, their people, and the world.

One of the most powerful aspects of Malcolm's legacy is that the adversity and degradation that he experienced as a child and black man in America was overcome through his own efforts, through the humility to accept guidance and instruction, and the determination to discipline himself to be able lead and guide others. As many of us try to understand and work with our youth, particularly our young men, the legacy of Malcolm X's life can serve as a powerful tool that can spark the next generations movement of mental and spiritual upliftment.

In celebration, the 23rd Annual MalcolmX Festival will be held this weekend, May 19th and 20th at West End Park, 1111 Oak Street, SW, Atlanta GA 30310 from 11am-7pm. For more information email: info@malcolmXfestival.com or visit www.malcolmXfestival.com.

 Het Heru

We are now in the Het Heru Cycle-April 21st - May 19th

Metu Neter Vol.1

The new moon came in on April 21, 2012, which moved us out of the Sebek cycle and into the Het-Heru cycle. As with Sebek, Het-Heru is one of our main programming faculties for our spirit. What we call Het-Heru is the energy and talent that gives us the power and use of the imagination, the ability to visualize, to express joy, experience pleasure, create harmony, etc.

Het-Heru literally translates as House (Het) of the Will (Heru). In her role as the house of the will Het-Heru relates to our state of health and vitality, which gives us the ability to be vibrant, creative, imaginative, joyful, and to be fertile as women, and virile as men. The ability to carry out our will is dependent on our state of health and vitality.

Het-Heru also governs relationships and therefore plays a significant role in our ability to attract a mate, as well as the the success of our marriages, friendships, and business relations. Her colors are green and yellow, her day is Friday, her activities involve music, dancing, intimacy, the arts, entertainment, etc.

For a full treatment of Het-Heru and all of her wonderful gifts please see Ra Un Nefer Amen's Metu Neter Vol. 1.

Law of Het Heru: It is not what I imagine or visualize, it is who is doing the imagining and visualizing. Am I a human or divine being?
