Dr. Robert W. Colbert, MD, is a highly qualified cardiologist who practices at PeaceHealth in Bellingham. Before joining PeaceHealth, Dr. Colbert was a staff cardiologist in a group practice in St. Paul, Minnesota. He also spent ten years in cardiovascular research before becoming a physician. Lauren Kreiger, MD, joined PeaceHealth in 2024 at PeaceHealth Peace Island as a board-certified family medicine physician while also having earned her master’s in public health. Mended Hearts

Join the next Mended Hearts meeting at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 3 for A Morning with a Pharmacist, Mia Wurtz, PharmD. The group meets at the Health Education Center (HEC 3333 Squalicum Parkway, Bellingham, WA. Drop-in for Diabetes Answers

On the first Wednesday of every month from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., PeaceHealth offers a resource for anyone who has or is concerned about diabetes or prediabetes. Stop by to get your questions answered by a certified diabetes care and education specialist. No registration required. Just show up at PeaceHealth Cordata Main, Conference Room 1 at 4545 Cordata Parkway on the lower level in Bellingham. Questions? Call 360-752-5206.


Advance Directive Workshop for Cancer Patients

The PeaceHealth St. Joseph Cancer Center hosts a monthly advance care planning session specifically geared toward patients experiencing cancer. The class meets at 3 p.m. on the second Thursday at the Cancer Center, 3301 Squalicum Parkway in Bellingham. Participants discuss the process of completing an advance directive and durable power of attorney and have a chance to complete these documents at the workshop. Centering Pregnancy Program

If you're expecting a baby, consider joining the Centering Pregnancy Program at the Cordata South clinic in Bellingham. The prenatal care program combines expert healthcare with group support in 10 fun, interactive group appointments with others who are pregnant. Ask your OB-GYN about the Centering program so you can find your community today.

Overdose Response

Anyone who uses opioids, including prescriptions, can be at risk for an overdose. Learn how to recognize an overdose and go through the steps to respond effectively to an overdose crisis by calling 911 and administering naloxone (aka Narcan) in this short online training. Family Play and Grow Drop-In Group

Every Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Play and Grow is designed for parents/caregivers and their babies. This one-hour drop-in group will include songs, playtime with baby and discussions on development, feeding, sleep and other related topics. Come connect with other parents and share the joys and challenges of parenting. Sessions meet at Heartwood House, 136 Highway 20, Sedro-Woolley.


Skagit Nature Prescription Program

Every Monday, you can spend time in local parks and out on trails with other adults and families from the Skagit area. All community members are welcome. Every walk includes time to connect with other participants and learn about resources for your health and wellbeing.

Your Voice, Your Choice Advance Care Directive classes are offered at the following locations monthly:

  • Cordata Main in Whatcom County on the second Wednesday, 3 to 5 p.m. in the lower level conference room. Next class is Aug. 14.
  • United General in Skagit County on the third Wednesday, 3 to 5 p.m. in the cafeteria. Next class is Aug 21.
