Party in the Park and Emergency Preparedness Fair

Caregivers from PeaceHealth Cottage Grove Community Medical Center will be handing out swag and providing emergency preparedness education at Cottage Grove’s Party in the Park and Emergency Preparedness Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3 at Coiner Park (1319 East Main St. in Cottage Grove, OR). Stop by our booth, say hello, and enjoy this family-fun community weekend celebration.


Shop with a Dietitian

Wouldn't it be great to have a nutrition expert by your side when you shop for groceries? PeaceHealth registered dietitian Cecelia Jacobson leads a free personalized shopping session at Market of Choice from 2 to 3 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month. Walk It Off with the Y

The Eugene Family YMCA is hosting a free, family-friendly walking program from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday this summer at Alton Baker Park in Eugene, Oregon. HEARTsafe Meeting

For anyone who has survived or been impacted by sudden cardiac arrest, HEARTsafe Eugene/Springfield and PeaceHealth host a support group that meets from 4 to 5 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of the month. The next meeting is Tuesday, Aug. 27. In-person attendees meet in room 200CD at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. Virtual attendees can email heartsafe@peacehealth.org for the link.


Diabetes Support Group 

Mark your calendar to join this group for people with diabetes and their support persons from 5 to 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month at Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute’s demonstration kitchen in Springfield. For questions or to sign up, send an email to cjacobson3@peacehealth.org


Stroke Support Group

Life after a stroke isn't easy. Talking to others who have been through a stroke may help. Mark your calendar to join one or both of the support groups offered by PeaceHealth:

  • First Wednesday of every month. This meeting offers various speakers and an opportunity to connect with other stroke survivors. 10:30 a.m. The group meets in person.
  • Third Wednesday of every month. A social support meeting to share stories by stroke survivors and caregivers. 10:30 a.m. to noon. Currently, meeting virtually.

Heart Walk and Talk

Join a free monthly outdoor walking group 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., the first Thursday of the month. The next session is Thursday, Sept. 5. Learn from our heart-health experts while you get fresh air and exercise walking along the scenic paths at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. Meet at the path near the arches with quotes near the Emergency Department (ED). Free parking is available in designated OHVI parking.
