CARLO PITTORE FILM AT

COLONIAL THEATER - BELFAST



CARLO ... and his Merry Band of Artists will screen at the Colonial Theater, 163 High Street, Belfast on Tuesday, August 13th at 7pm (doors open at 6:30). Speakers will include the film director, Richard Kane, and others.


Carlo Pittore, an exuberant, larger-than-life figurative artist and activist is discussed by a small group of friends and fellow artists (now recognized as leaders in Maine art – Kathy Bradford, Pam Smith, Robert Shetterly, Stephen Petroff, Natasha Mayers) who founded the Union of Maine Visual Artists (UMVA) in 1975 and gathered at a late afternoon al fresco dinner to assess Carlo’s impact. He died in 2005 at the age of 62.
