"My son, Myers, absolutely loves the outdoor classroom at Partners In Learning. Myers can use his curiosity and imagination at his finest. From baking brownies in the mud kitchen to running his truck dealership, and showing kids how to race them on the dirt mounds, to using all those muscles on the outdoor swings and rope tunnel, he is exhausted at the end of the day; in a good way! But, when I pick him up at the end of the day, I enjoy seeing his smile and pure happiness. Myers came home using the word “camouflage” appropriately, and I think my mouth dropped! I know he is in good hands at Partners in Learning." ~ Allison Doby, Board Member
With other generosity of Brenda and Gerry Wood's 8 acres for our new site, we will have more opportunities for our exploratory outdoor classrooms. We want to cultivate a holistic outdoor environmental education that promotes children’s physical, mental, and emotional health while creating effective stewards and good global citizens. Our vision is to have an outdoor learning environment for all children in Rowan County to learn through the natural environment that is a place of healing, and growth.
