The Sculpture Garden at Hartwood Acres- Now Open!

We are thrilled to announce that the Hartwood Acres Sculpture Garden is complete and open to the public. This is our largest project to date, undertaken in partnership with Allegheny County! Featuring 14 sculptures both new and restored, new accessible pathways, stone walls, and native plantings, the Sculpture Garden puts Pittsburgh on the map for contemporary sculptures and parks. This new destination offers a valuable opportunity for education, art appreciation, and casual strolling in a sustainable landscape. Twilight Picnic for the Parks August 20, 2022 at Hartwood Acres Park

Tickets are still on sale for Twilight Picnic for the Parks! Mark your calendars for the region's best summer celebration in the Caren Glotfelty Meadow at Hartwood Acres Park - a night of fun, music, delicious food and drinks with good friends. The Twilight Picnic assembles regional supporters in an intimate atmosphere under the stars. This sustainable meadow of native plantings is a beautiful backdrop for al fresco style cocktails and elevated picnic fare prepared by big Burrito Catering using the finest local ingredients. Performing throughout the evening will be The Andrew Hendryx Ensemble with Grammy Award-winning guest cellist Dave Eggar. They're coming from Asheville, NC for a night of joyous, foot-tapping, upbeat music spanning the mountains of Appalachia to Motown. Proceeds raised from this signature fundraiser go directly back into your nine Allegheny County Parks.

Park 'til Dark & Pour at the Park October 15, 2022 at North Park

Save the date for our annual craft beer fundraiser and FREE day-long park activities! Wondering how you can enjoy the outdoors while supporting your parks? Look no further! We will be hosting a full day of activities at North Park on October 15, capped by our annual craft beer fundraiser! Get out with your family and friends of all ages to try new (free) activities in North Park, then purchase a ticket to enjoy over 15 craft beer and spirit vendors, live performances, local eats, and so much more! Pour at the Park is more family-friendly than ever this year with Coach Dave's Kids Camp for kids ages 6-15! This is sure to be a day in the park that you won't want to miss. New Interpretive Signage Installed in South Park

New interpretive signage has been installed in South Park. Interpretive signage is an educational sign meant to enhance the park experience for visitors by providing accurate and visible details about locations of park facilities and amenities. The Vale of Cashmere, Nevin Shelter, and the Paul Riis Meadow all feature new interpretive signage so you can learn more about your park and appreciate its historical and ecological features.

Honor Women by Donating to Suffragist Grove

The Suffragist Grove was founded in Hartwood Acres Park on August 18, 2020, the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. This park was selected as the site because Mary Flinn Lawrence, who owned the mansion with her husband before it was acquired by Allegheny County, had a long history of advocating for women’s voting rights. Help the Allegheny County Parks Foundation plant a living tribute to the women and men of the past who waged the valiant battle to secure the right for all women to vote and to those of today who are still fighting for the rights of women and all people. Your donation today will expand this grove and serve as a lasting memory to their efforts.
