On The Hill Of Hope!

August 2024 - Back to Basics

What a day!

We want to express our immense gratitude to everyone who joined us at our 2024 picnic! The rain didn't dampen our spirits; we had a fantastic time celebrating recovery with our family, friends, and fellow alumni.

First and foremost, we would like to extend our thanks to the alumni community for their participation. Seeing everyone come together as a community, bringing their families and friends, and revisiting the place where it all began fills us with pride for each of your journeys. Walking around and seeing the smiles, children laughing, happy faces, and hugs was a truly indescribable experience. Community plays a crucial role in recovery as it is a living testimony for others. So, thank you for showing up, bringing your families and friends, and staying connected with us; we are all immensely proud and happy for you.

No High Watch picnic would be complete without a remarkable speaker! We were delighted to have Carver Brown deliver a speech that touched our hearts, filled us with laughter, and impacted our recovery journey. This year's theme, "Back to Basics," was exactly what we all needed. Thank you, Carver, for your inspiring words and for reminding us that we are not alone. Your enthusiasm, charisma, and inspiring words made a difference in our day!

Last but certainly not least, we want to express our gratitude to our incredible staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure every aspect of our picnic was perfect for our friends and family. Thanks to the fantastic dining service team for preparing delicious food and incredible desserts! We also appreciate everyone who assisted with the parking, registration, raffle, silent auction, Joy Farm tent, and apparel tent, as well as all the volunteers around the campus for their hard work and warm smiles. You truly made a difference! In addition, a big thank you goes out to the incredible admissions, clinical, milieu, and medical team that worked tirelessly on that day to assist our current guests during the event.

We can't wait to see you all again next year for another memorable picnic!

International Overdose Awareness Day - August 31

We are united by the same mission: to end the overdose crisis.

In partnership with High Watch Media, Jeff Reilly and Greg Williams directed and produced the impactful documentary film Tipping the Pain Scale.

One of the featured subjects of the #TippingThePainScale film is Roz Pichardo. Roz has personally reversed hundreds of overdoses in the Kensington area, Philadelphia, using Narcan. She has reached thousands of others by training people in the community on the need to carry Narcan and how to use it. On behalf of the over 100,000 people we lost in the last year to overdose, please commit with us to carry and learn how to use Narcan. To learn more about Roz and the Tipping The Pain Scale film, visit this link. (The film is being distributed by High Watch Media)
