Water: A Juried Art Exhibit
Water is a juried exhibition organized by GALA. The exhibition will be held at the Fitchburg Art Museum during the month of January 2022

Call for Artists Entry Form will be available in July 2021.

We are notifying you now so you may prepare for this exhibit. In July we will send out an email for you to register with more detailed information.

Awards and ribbons will be given, following a reception

All visual artists are invited to submit their best artworks on the theme for inclusion in the exhibition. All types of art styles may be submitted, including both 2D and 3D works, painting, sculpture, digital, printmaking, fiber, photography, graphic, mixed media.

The theme is Water. Intimately familiar to us all, we emerge from the womb clinging to it, and spend a lifetime wading through it at every turn. Even life forms that don't need oxygen for their survival absolutely need water, such is its preciousness. The visual representation of water, in any of its myriad forms, is acceptable for this exhibit. Artists are free to apply their own interpretation in representing the overall theme. Representational and abstract ideas based broadly on this theme, in any media, will be considered.

Art in the Family – A Retrospective and Current Work
3 Generations of Artists – the Winchester, Woodard, and Larson Families
Jaffrey Civic Center, 40 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH, Cunningham Gallery, 2nd Floor,

In exploring the “Art in the Family” theme, Liz Winchester-Larson has been exhibiting her art work with her sister, Harriet Winchester, and brother Stephen Winchester, since their first exhibition together in 1999 at the Hollis Photo and Frame Design, in Hollis, NH where they grew up. With encouragement and stories about other artists in the family, including earlier generations of Woodard's on our mother's side, our artistic abilities came naturally and were nurtured. For this exhibition at the Jaffrey Civic Center, the family group of artists includes: Larry and Sarah Winchester, Liz Winchester-Larson, Harriet Winchester, Stephen Winchester, Louise B. Woodard, Charles F. Woodard, Bruce Woodard, Marion B. Larson, Kenneth A. Larson, and Sarah M. Larson.

Artist Statement:
"Many of my images are inspired by places I have visited and are personally significant. Many of these places are meaningful not only for their obvious beauty but also for the hidden beauty and the natural phenomenon that transpire for a particular place to exist. I am amazed by the constant changes that need to take place in order for something to live. The four essential elements, Earth, air, fire and water are key to the survival of every living thing. My monotypes and paintings are re-examinations of these places."

Curator: Mark Setevdemio
Venue: Creative Connections Gallery, 56 Main St, Ashburnham, MA.
