EL POMAR: RESPONSE IN UNCERTAIN TIMES
We departed 2021 and entered 2022 hopeful for continued stories of rebound and recovery. This focus turned quickly in the last days of 2021 to an all-too-familiar refrain – wildfire – as the most destructive fire in state history devastated Boulder County. Now, halfway through 2022, we continue to connect with and support organizations focused on rebound and recovery and we are struck by the resilience and selflessness of so many individuals and organizations in our state.

In this issue, you’ll hear from Matt Carpenter, our Executive VP & Chief Operating Officer, about our grant work during these unusual years of crisis response and our focus on being a reliable partner to organizations doing critical work around the state. You’ll also receive an update from Thayer Tutt, El Pomar’s Chief Investment Officer, about the shifting landscape of the economy and markets.

Finally, this issue recognizes our Wildland Fire Fund’s 20-year milestone -- a funding vehicle as critical today as it was when it was created by El Pomar’s Trustees in response to the June 2002 Hayman Fire.

Thank you for taking a few minutes to read about how each of us involved with El Pomar Foundation is serving our mission to enhance, encourage and promote the current and future well-being of the people of Colorado.
