So Much to Do Downtown in August
In July, our vibrant Downtown community enjoyed music -- there was our Jazz on B Street event, live music at B Street & Vine, B Street Books, a DJ at O'Neill's, and the Central Park Music Series featured more summer concerts. The City held a pop-up Games on B Street event, which was a lot of fun.
August brings the B Street Train, the North B Street Fiesta, a Historical Walking Tour, more concerts at Central Park, a Pet Adoption Event, and the Chili Cook-Off. If you haven't seen all the new parklets, and the new picnic tables (thanks to B Street Boosters, with help from DSMA), it's a great time to check them out!
Don't forget that our Restaurant Guide is online. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for details about other events and fun things happening in our neighborhood. Keep an eye out for our Friday round-ups of upcoming weekend events on Facebook.
As always, we appreciate your support of our small business community.

It's time for the annual San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department's annual Chili Cook-Off at Central Park, benefiting MDA of Northern California.
On Saturday, August 24, from 11am-5pm, a $10 entry fee gets you a cup of every chili available, a bowl of your favorite chili, and a drink ticket. There will also be entertainment, a raffle, and a jump house.
Bring a blanket, lawn chairs, and an umbrella, and enjoy the day at the park!

Central Park Music Series
There are just two concerts left in San Mateo's Central Park Music Series, so don't miss out! The concerts run from 6-8pm, and food vendors and community partners are there to add to the fun.
Here's the final line-up:
- August 1 - Land of Confusion/TAKE 2 (Phil Collins Tribute & Genesis/Party Mix)
- August 8 - Bud E. Luv Orchestra (Swing/Big Band/Party Mix)
