Sorry we missed one August dance weekend before getting this monthly email newsletter out. But there are still some awesome dances this month to fill you in on! In fact, you can join us tonight (8/9) for a contra dance.


The Partnership is pleased to present a Roaring 20s Dance with Halley Shoenberg's 11-piece REVIVAL Jazz Band on Saturday, August 17. It's going to be an amazing night of dancing in the Park! (More info below.)


"There’s Something About the Music" is a vibrant celebration of the rich tapestry of Black dance and music across the African Diaspora. Hosted by Raediant Movement, this electrifying event starting with a dynamic dance class followed by a sizzling dance party. Also savor the flavors of Jamaica with an on-site food truck. All you swing dancers out there also won't want to miss Gottaswing's August 24 dance featuring The One and Only TOMMY DORSEY ORCHESTRA.

Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts & Culture welcomes back Halley Shoenberg's 11-piece REVIVAL Jazz Band for a swingin' Roaring 20s dance spectacular in the Spanish Ballroom! 1920s style attire is encouraged but not required.


Beginner lesson with Ellen Engle 8pm-9pm, followed by dancing with the band 9pm-11:30pm | Tickets sold at the door.

"There’s Something About the Music" is a vibrant celebration of the rich tapestry of Black dance and music across the African Diaspora. This electrifying event, hosted by Raediant Movement, invites participants of all ages and dance levels to immerse themselves in a dynamic 90-minute dance class featuring the rhythmic beats of Dancehall and Soca dances from the West Indies and Africa. Stay for a sizzling dance party, led by a live DJ. Attendees will not only enjoy an evening of music, movement, and cultural unity but also savor the flavors of Jamaica with an on-site food truck. With inclusivity at its core, this event aims to create an unforgettable experience where diverse communities come together to learn, connect, and celebrate the beauty of Black dance forms and music on a global scale.
