2024 Mayor's State of the City

Aug. 16 | 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.


Lee's Summit Mayor Bill Bill Baird will deliver the State of the City address on Friday, Aug. 16 at the Missouri Innovation Campus located at 1101 NW Innovations Parkway. The Lee's Summit Chamber of Commerce is hosting the luncheon.


The mayor's address is scheduled to start at noon and is open to the public. The State of the City address will be livestreamed on the City's YouTube channel.

Water Utilities Accreditation


Lee’s Summit Water Utilities is proud to announce it recently received full accreditation from the American Public Works Association (APWA). This accreditation formally verifies and recognizes that Water Utilities complies with the recommended management practices set forth by the APWA. Lee’s Summit Water Utilities is one of only nine water utilties in Missouri that have received APWA accreditation.

LS Marketplace


Have you checked out the LS Marketplace recently? Show off your Lee's Summit pride with mugs, hats and more. The LS Marketplace is located inside City Hall and is open Mon.-Fri. from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Property Code Review


The City is seeking individuals interested in contributing to discussions that will influence property maintenance code enforcement within the City. Ideally, participants would have firsthand knowledge of Lee's Summit through residency, business ownership or property management.

Road Closures


Southeast Green Street

Southeast Green Street between Southeast Second Street and the entrance to the City Hall parking garage is closed until November due to construction on the Downtown Market Plaza. Visitors can access the parking lot and garage from the alley just west of the garage off Southeast Second Street. 


Chipman Road Project

The following traffic changes are necessary for the construction of the Chipman Road Improvements project. The project began in July 2023 and is expected to continue until late spring 2025. Chipman Road between View High Drive and Bent Tree Drive will remain closed to through traffic for the duration of the project.

  • Chipman Road from Cedar Creek Lane to just west of the pedestrian bridge is now open to local traffic.
  • Chipman Road from View High Drive to Cedar Creek Lane is closed for approximately two months.
  • Chipman Road, just west of the pedestrian bridge to Bent Tree Drive is closed for approximately four months.
  • Traffic from the Cedar Creek subdivision will be routed through the Edgewood Trail subdivision to View High Drive.

Stay safe and informed with LS Aware, the City's free alert system designed to keep residents and businesses informed of emergencies, such as weather events, road closures, and certain non-emergency events. The City can quickly send messages via phone, text or email depending on the preference set up by the user. You choose how you want to be notified and what information you want to receive.
