Community E-News l 08.04.24

Just ten more days until the first day of school. We can't wait to welcome our new and returning Cougars during Orientation!

A Message from our Principal of Student Life and Mission:

Dear Carondelet Community,

I am hopeful that students, families, faculty, and staff spent time engaging in activities, community, and relationships that are restorative and energizing this summer. It is in these moments of rest from the busyness of the school year that the lessons learned from the year before can take root and we can dream about and plan for the year that stretches out before us. As we transition from the wonderful rejuvenating time that summer brings, we are excited to welcome you all back to campus for what promises to be an exciting 2024-25 school year.

Last week I was fortunate to participate in a CSJ mission immersion in Chicago. This immersion was a culmination of a year spent learning about, reflecting on, and living out the mission and charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph. It was energizing to spend time with other educators, nonprofit administrators, and business leaders talking about how the CSJ charism of Unifying Love is expressed in our work with the Sisters as well as what we are called to do and to be as leaders. I come back to Carondelet refreshed and energized, ready to take on this new year of learning, growing, and building community.

In that spirit, this eNewsletter is full of all the things that you need to know about to start the year, and I urge you to read it all the way through. We are eagerly anticipating welcoming students, both returning and new to campus!

I’ll leave you with a contemporary adaptation from a Sisters of St. Joseph (CSJ) Maxim, one of the 100 sayings written at the founding of the Sisters by Fr. Jean-Pierre Médaille, SJ, to guide a deeper relationship with God, others, and themselves. As we enjoy the last days of summer, it is my prayer for our community.

Bring great love to whatever life presents today, great and small things alike.

~ Maxim 90

Join our 1965 Society Today

Generous donors who make annual gifts of $1,965 or more in an academic year are invited to a reception with our President and recognized in Many the Gifts as members of the 1965 Society, commemorating the year of Carondelet's founding.

We invite those who aren't already members to join today by making a gift of $1,965 or more. In honor of your generosity, you'll immediately receive an invitation to our Cocktail Reception on Thursday, September 5.

Your philanthropy makes an immediate and lasting impact on our students, faculty, staff, and families in the Carondelet community. Tuition covers approximately 90% of our annual budget, and we rely on our community's generosity to bridge this gap by making an annual gift of $1,965.

Please reach out to the Director of Philanthropy Lynne Sabbagha Kenny ’86 P’24 to review your giving history or learn more about this donor society.

Thank you to our current and future members!
