Come to Dayspring this Friday, August 25 for an ice cream social with sundae bar. Be sure to wear your comfy clothes and bring snacks, sleeping bags, and stuffed animals, because after ice cream we will cozy up on the floor of Fellowship Hall for a family movie night. The ice cream social starts at 6:30 and movie starts at 7pm. 

The Explorers’ Class will kick off our fall session at 9:00am on August 27 in the Palo Verde Room with an exciting and eye-opening, five-part interactive UMC Bible study. We will learn about the surprising and varied depictions of God throughout the Bible. What imagery/poetry evokes mystery or wisdom? How does God appear in Proverbs versus Exodus? How and why is God presented all these ways in the Bible? We are looking forward to this unique, unforgettable Bible study, and to learning about the very different images of God that resonate in each of our hearts. All are welcome. Join the Dayspring Preschool and Kindergarten at Jeremiah's Italian Ice on Thursday, August 31 from noon to close. Twenty percent of sales will be donated to our preschool and kindergarten when you mention Dayspring!

Our Labor Day All-Church Campout is coming up September 1-4 at Hoyer Campground in Greer! Join us for fellowship, campfires, potlucks and FUN at a cool 8500 feet! Registration is now open. Email Carol for details.

BeTween, our service and fellowship ministry for kids in 4th-6th grades returns at 6:45pm on September 6. We are looking for volunteers to lead or co-lead different Wednesday evenings throughout the year. If you have questions or are interested in helping out, please email Andrea.

We host our annual Flu Shot Clinic on Sunday, September 10 from 9:15am until noon in the Fellowship Hall. You do not need to be a member of Dayspring to participate. Costs vary, depending on insurance. Immunizations for persons age 4 and over. No appointment necessary.

Our annual Ministry Fair is September 10, following the 10:00 service. This is a great chance to learn more about all the incredible things happening at our church!

Bible Sunday is September 17! If you have a child in third grade or older who has not yet received a Bible and would like your child to participate, please email Andrea with the name you would like printed on your child’s Bible. 

With the temporary move to one combined service, you're probably seeing a lot more unfamiliar faces on Sunday mornings. We're encouraging everyone to wear their name tags during this time (and beyond)! Plus, it'll help Pastor Michael learn all of our names faster! World Water Week runs from August 23 through September 1 and water is an especially important topic for us in Arizona. Our local PBS station offers this Cronkite News archive of articles that discuss water shortage, conservation efforts in Arizona and ongoing efforts to help our citizens get enough H20. If you are a sustaining donor with access to PBS Passport, check out their series on “H2O: The Molecule That Made Us.” The S.A.G.E. team (Spiritual Activists Greening the Earth) encourages Dayspring members to adopt at least two new ways to protect God’s sacred creation. Wind-driven wildfires on Maui have prompted evacuations and caused significant loss of life and widespread damage. UMCOR is coordinating with the California-Pacific Annual Conference to process an initial grant for emergency supplies such as shelf-stable food, water, hygiene items and tools to help survivors recover belongings.
