SMC Launches San Diego New Home Palooza!
The Sales & Marketing Council of BIA San Diego, launched its first-ever San Diego New Home Palooza, August 3-4. The New Home Palooza featured homes for sale and for rent throughout San Diego County, built by our BIA builder-members. The SMC committee worked diligently to put this project together. The public responded by touring homes and apartments from Otay Mesa to Fallbrook, and El Cajon to Carlsbad…all over the county! In addition, this event made news in a few publications, including the San Diego Business Journal. The New Home Palooza will return again in 2025.

Hops & Homes, Quarterly Awards & Palooza Kick-Off at Coral Ridge!
KB Homes hosted this year’s Hops & Homes event at their Coral Ridge/Coral Springs community located in Carlsbad. We had a great turnout for networking, model tours, pizza and of course, the quarterly awards ceremony. In addition, this Hops & Homes served as the launching pad for the New Home Palooza, where participants collected their signs and their Builder ToolKits, containing everything they needed for the event that weekend. Congratulations to our award recipients that evening!

BIA Cares Delivers 250 Backpacks for Kids in Need
BIA Cares distributed a total of 250 backpacks to students at EJE Academies Charter School and Pro Kids Golf First Tee San Diego this year. Students had their choice of red, blue, black, green and pink backpacks filled with school supplies. It was pure joy to see the sweet smiles on the students’ faces when they picked up their backpacks. Our BIA Cares team is very grateful to the BIA SMC and the general membership for your donations.

RICK Acquires Engineering Firms in Las Vegas and the Inland Empire
RICK has acquired Strive Engineering of Las Vegas and Armstrong & Brooks, which serves the Inland Empire. “Our strategic expansion in the past year has led to acquisitions in the Phoenix, Las Vegas and Inland Empire markets, as well as a new office in Santa Clarita and a new Watershed science and planning group,” said President and CEO Kai Ramer. “We now have more than 400 employees who collaborate and work seamlessly from 11 offices in California, Arizona, Colorado and Nevada,” he said.

Spotlight on Safe Harbor Sunroad
Safe Harbor Sunroad is the second harbor club renovation by McCullough for Safe Harbor Marinas. We collaborated closely with the Port of San Diego to secure the approval of the Board and California Coastal Commission for the renovation. McCullough was tasked with modernizing the surrounding landscape to meet the marina’s needs better while preserving the site’s mid-century charm resulting in a modernized space that offers panoramic views of the Coronado Naval Base and Downtown San Diego.
