Senior Lighting Designer Anne Dresbach is a powerhouse Project Manager and Lead Lighting Designer at VDA Inc. With a wealth of experience in the theatre and event space, Anne is a trailblazer in the lighting industry. Her journey began in high school when she signed up for the tech crew for the school’s spring musical, where she learned to focus lights and then moved on to run the light board. She received her BFA from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, and has worked for 20+ years in the Greater Boston area, lighting projects ranging from experiential art to dance to exhibit and conference projects and more. Opening in October 2023, the Lindemann Performing Arts Center at Brown University includes a reconfigurable Main Hall that can be transformed into an immersive experimental media cube, a 388-seat recital hall, a 275-seat end-stage theater, and more. “The GLP Fusion X-PAR 12Z fixture was new to the inventory of PRG UK. It is a good light for the needs of the Crazy for You London show, but I was worried about light spill on the several painted drops that were hanging just upstage of the electric pipes. A City Theatrical Top Hat was the perfect answer, but with an odd size frame holder it was necessary to have them custom made. A fixture was delivered to the City Theatrical shop and this custom GLP Fusion X-PAR 12Z Top Hat was born. Since City Theatrical was created in 1986, they have been building all sorts of custom pieces for me and are a great asset to have in my design toolkit.”
