Black Dichro Continuum

     John McDonald's magnificent continuum sculptures
are our most popular. We just received two of his best sellers. A black and a blue dichroic double continuum. These sculptures are usually 22-26" tall, although we have had his larger sizes, and more are on order. They also come in a variety of colors including translucent colors.
Donald Carlson
Donald Carlson's cherries have really been popular this year. We were nearly sold out so a new shipment came in a couple of weeks ago. His cherries are unbelievably realistic and come in a variety of sizes. Each cherry is hand blown glossy red glass with a glossy black stem. Use them alone or in a grouping, just don't take a bite.
We also got one of Donald's red bowls. Check it out.

Here we are again, another month gone by. Well, it's not like we haven't been productive. I hope your month was as exciting and fun as ours. To start we received more work for the gallery including, Michael Maddy and Rina Fehrensen, Donald Carlson, John McDonald, and Daniel Blade and Steven Gartner.
The studio has been busy with repairs, window and lampshade restorations, and custom work. I have also been super busy with designing and writing proposals for custom work.
We went back to one of our long time customers, Woodlawn Cemetery here in Santa Monica.
I hope you enjoy August's newsletter, and if you have a chance to stop by and get inspired. We hope to see you soon. If not keep checking our website out for new work.

You can not help but feel good when you pick up and look at Michael Maddy and Rina Fehrensen's playful vases, hearts, and fish. Each one is hand blown and very solid. They look fabulous with or without flowers, but I like to use my artwork. Check out their page on our website for our current inventory. We just got this shipment and we don't have many pieces left.

Red Buddha Oval          Blue Green Kwan Yin Spirit Weight

Susan's most popular work, probably because of the prices, are the spirit weights. We just received another four weights, plus a red Buddha oval.
If you are not familiar with Susan's work you are really missing out. We have been selling Susan's Shaman's and other sculptures for decades. Her collectors are scattered all over the world. One look and you can see their appeal, but in person the solid presence of them is staggering. Most of our customers gaze for long periods of time entranced in all their detail, and spirituality. They should be in every collection, and make wonderful gifts.
Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery,
 Santa Monica, CA.

For many years we have been doing the restoration of stained glass windows at Woodlawn Cemetery here in Santa Monica. Woodlawn is owned and run by the City of Santa Monica. I paid them a visit earlier this year to see if they needed our services. At that time they asked me to give them a proposal  to clean, and install protective glass on the exterior of a number of windows. In late July they accepted my proposal and asked us to start on two of the windows. One window, the tree window,  had been the target of gnats and spiders, and needed significant cleaning. Interestingly, mausoleums have a consistent problem with gnats. It may be the water that is in the small vases at each crept, or more likely the decaying bodies who's odor attract corpse flies and death gnats. The spiders are drawn to the gnat nests.
The sunrise window was a window we restored about 20 years ago. It was still in great shape, but need to be reputtied, and cleaned. We also installed tempered glass on the exterior for protection. The sunrise window is a bright, colorful, and inspiring window. They use the setting for funeral, and memorial services.
I often hear from my artists how thankful they are  to have the opportunity to showcase and sell their work. They know how fortunate they are to be able to do what they love to do in the place of their choice.
For my artists, and myself thank you very much for helping them live their dream.

Sincerely,

Adamm Gritlefeld
